Thought for the day: The forty-two parables in the Gospels are designed to take us up short and make us think again. Today’s parable is a good example. The actions of the employer and the treatment of the workers simply would not work today as a labour relations strategy and would also not have worked in the time of Jesus. And what is the point? Really that it doesn’t matter when we come to the Gospel, early, middle or late, by routes direct or circuitous, in full stride or falteringly: all that matters is that we come to the Gospel. Achievement counts for nothing; grace is everything, thanks be to God! Prayer: The door of faith is always open and you welcome us, O God, whenever our hearts are open. Pope Leo XVI on X: Lord of Life, You have given us the gift of water, source of fruitfulness, freshness, and hope. It quenches thirst, nourishes the earth, and heals wounds. We see with pain so many brothers and sisters who lack clean water, who walk for miles to find it, who become ill due to its scarcity. Forgive us for turning it into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders, meant for all your children.
Pope’s Intention for September: For the care of water. Let us pray for a just and sustainable management of water, a vital resource, so that everyone may have equal access to it.

Donations from these two envelopes support your priest’s income. We appreciate you returning these envelopes at your earliest convenience. They can be placed in the Building Fund boxes at the back of the 3 Parish Churches or placed in the offertory baskets. If paying by cheque, please make it payable to Tigh an tSagairt. Blessed Trinity, Father, Son and Spirit,
we worship and praise You. Father, through the Holy Spirit you give to every Christian a unique calling as you provide and care for the needs of your people.
Hear our prayers for our needs as parish communities.
Bless our efforts to strengthen lay ministry. In our diocese and in all our parishes give to each person the grace to discern, follow and live their calling. Call forth from among us vocations to the diocesan priesthood.
Fill the hearts of our priests and deacons with renewed Peace and Joy.
Father, in all things ‘Thy will be done’.
We entrust our prayers to you through Christ our Lord. Amen.
