Thought for the day: We are at the start of the new year and beginning again is an invitation to look in two directions. What happened for me in the last year, both in my ordinary life and in my life as a believer, a person of faith? For what do I ask forgiveness? For what do I give thanks? We also look forward and the new beginning gives us a chance to start again on the Way of discipleship. Both thanksgiving and renewal are to be found in today’s readings. The Gospel is in invitation to wake up, to keep watch, to live fully the present moment under God, in whom we live and move and have our being. Prayer: Wake us up, O God, at the start of a new year and rouse us from the slumber of the everyday that we may recognise you in every moment and in every person every day of our lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Before that happens, you are invited to visit www.dioceseofkerry.ie/SynodQ/ to learn more about the questions that Pope Francis is asking us to reflect on.

Gluten Free hosts are available from the Priest at Communion Time.

Parish Masses: You are welcome to attend either the weekday Mass or weekend Mass as the Sunday obligation is still lifted. We give thanks to God that we can physically gather as a faith community once again. Protective measures include:
(i) You are asked to wear a face mask.
(ii) Come in good time.
(iii) We ask that you observe social distancing.
(iv) Communion can only be received in the hand at this time.
(v) hand sanitisation is advised.
(vii) You can place your offering for the offertory collection in the building fund boxes at the back of the churches as the passing of baskets is not permitted.
Your co-operation is very much appreciated.

Pope Francis – Tweet: Let us embrace Jesus in the little ones of today, love Him in the least of our brothers and sisters, serve Him in the poor. They are most like Jesus who was born poor. It is in them that He wants to be honoured.
