Thought for the Day: Today we are greatly helped by the wonderful Gospel of the Woman at the Well. On the third attempt, Jesus finally gets through to her but after that there is no stopping her. As Augustine teaches, she represents us: what do I thirst for? What is the most important thing in my life? Where do I now find God? By relentless challenge and resolute honesty, we too can be led to that encounter with Jesus, which changes everything, “giving life a new horizon and a decisive direction.” May we come to believe because we have heard him ourselves and we know that he really is the saviour of the world. Prayer: In the midst of the ordinary things, loving God, you call us to the deeper realities: your thirst for us and our thirst for you. Never let us be satisfied, until we come to the springs of living water, welling up for eternal life. Amen. (Fr Kieran O’Mahony)
Pope Leo XIV on X: Every path towards conversion begins when we allow the Word of God to touch our hearts and welcome it with a docile spirit. The Lenten journey is a welcome opportunity to heed the voice of the Lord and renew our commitment to follow Christ.
Pope’s Intention for March: For disarmament and peace. Let us pray that nations move toward effective disarmament particularly nuclear disarmament, and that world leaders choose the part of dialogue and diplomach instead of violence.
Lenten Reflections: Baptised and Sent in Lent, invites us to reflect more deeply on our faith, it helps us rediscover our baptismal identity and mission through Gospel prayer, shared listening, and practical action. These reflections offer a meaningful way to live out our call as disciples of Christ during Lent. Resources are available at www.synod.ie.

Paidir go dtí Naomh Prionsias
A Thiarna, déan me mar uirlis do shíocháin.
Mar a bhfuil fuath, go gcuire mé grá;
Mar a bhfuil gortú, maithiúnas;
Mar a bhfuil amhras, creideamh;
Mar a bhfuil éadóchas, dóchas;
Mar a bhfuil dorchadas, solas;
Agus mar a bhfuil brón, áthas.
A Mháistir Dhiaga, tabhair dom nach lorgóinn a bheith chomh mór sin
ar mo shólású, ach sólás a thabhairt;
a bheith tuigthe, ach a thuiscint;
a bheith gráite, ach a ghráú.
Oir is trí thabhairt a fhaighimid,
Trí mhaithiúnas a fhaightear maithiúnas dúinn, agus is trí bhás a fhaightear an bheatha shíoraí. Amen.
Trócaire: This year’s Lent Campaign accompanies a three-generation family in rural Rwanda, led by Uwamahoro, a young mother supporting her daughter, niece and elderly mother. Through their story, parish communities are invited to reflect on themes of resilience, care for our common home, and the dignity of every person in the face of poverty caused by climate injustice. Their lived experience helps bring the Sunday Gospels to life and connects faith with the call to solidarity.
Gluten Free hosts are available from the Priest at Communion.
