Shared/Multiple Intentional Masses
Owing to the fact of lesser public Masses in St. Mary’s and given the wish of parishioners to request Mass for their intentions, the decision has been taken to offer the Friday 7.30pm for Shared or Combined intentions. Such has been the pastoral practice in Kerry urban parishes for some time and will hopefully facilitate our own parishioners if they so wish.
As the recommended stipend for an announced Mass in Kerry Diocese is €20 which the celebrant receives all extra offerings will be send by the Parish to the nominated charity of the Bishop of Kerry which is The Education of Priests and The Sick and Retired Kerry Priests’ Fund. All intentions, will appear on the newsletter (once requested before Friday publication) as usual. Enquiries, please contact 066-9151208.
First Confession / Communion 2013
12th September 2012.
Dear Parents/Guardians,

All parents of children preparing for these sacraments are warmly invited to important meetings about how to enrol your child. All details of the parish preparation programmes will be explained at short meetings as follows:
First Communion & Confession
For the parents of 2nd Class pupils of An Clochar, Scoil Iognáid Ris, Scoil Cheann Trá and Scoil an Ghleanna on Tuesday 18th September at 8pm at An Clochar / Presentation Convent Playroom.
For the parents of 2nd Class pupils of Scoil Eoin Baiste, Lios Póil on Thursday 20th September at 8pm at Scoil Eoin Baiste.
As attendance at these meetings is an essential part of the preparation programme for these sacraments if you yourself are unavailable, you may arrange for one of the child’s godparents to attend in your place. Failing that, please make contact with me before the announced meetings. We also ask you to bring home a copy of the parish newsletter (The Sunday Message) each week which will help your entire family prepare for these sacraments. If we do not hear from you we will take that as an indication that you do not wish to present your child for these sacraments.
We use the parish programme of preparation, Do This in Memory, to help our children and their families as they prepare for these sacraments. This programme aims to help parents, school and parish become more actively involved in the sacramental preparation for First Penance and First Eucharist.
Enrolment for First Confession and First Communion will be on the weekend of 29th/30th September. Enrolment will be at the 8pm Vigil Mass in St Mary’s on Saturday 29th September and at the 10am Mass at St John the Baptist’s, Lios Póil on Sunday 30th September.

Yours in Christ, Tomás B. Ó Luanaigh S.P.

Buíochas ó Fr. Bernard
Trá Lí,
A Phobal Dé,
My family and I would like thank all involved in last Saturday night’s celebration. It was a privilege to be back in Dingle for the celebration of the Pattern Day and we all had a great time at the celebration evening at the Pobalscoil. It was wonderful to catch up with so many of the parishioners and with those involved with the primary and secondary schools of the parish. I’d also like to express my thanks to the parish for the kind presentation made on the night and for all the encouragement and welcome I received from the people of Dingle, Lios Póil and Ceann Trá during my four years in the parish.

Beannacht Dé oraibh,
Fr Bernard.

Know About The Catholic Faith
After the summer break we will shortly be resuming our meetings for those who would like to know more about the Catholic faith. From the beginning of the year until the summer break we have been meeting regularly at An Díseart with one of our members hoping, next Easter, to be received into full membership of the Catholic Church in the parish community of the Sacred Heart, Annascaul.
The meetings will be on Monday evenings from October 1st, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm consisting of a presentation on the topic of the evening given by a member of the RCIA team, which will be followed by time for discussion and sharing; then there will be a brief period of prayer or quiet reflection on a passage of Sacred Scripture. The meetings will finish with light refreshments and time for a chat.
If you are interested, or if you know somebody who may be interested in joining the group please get in touch with the Parish Priest in your local parish who will put you in touch with a member of the RCIA team. (Fr. Jim Sheehy on behalf of the Chorca Dhuibhne RCIA team).
