Laochra an Chreidimh II – Patrons
Naomh patrún d’fheirmeoirí agus do phobail tuaithe is ea Naomh Isidore. Ta a Lá Fhéile ar an 15ú Bealtaine.
Rugadh Isidore i 1070 do chlann bhocht tuaithe i Madrid. Glaodh Isidore air i ndiaidh Isidore, Ard Easpag Seville. Naomh Patrún Madrid is ea é chomh maith.
D’éirigh Isidore go moch gach maidin chun dul ar aifreann roimis dul ag obair sna páirceanna. Uaireanta bhíodh sé déanach ag dul ag obair toisc gur fhan sé ró fhada ag guí sa séipéal. Bhíodh na hoibrithe feirme eile ag gearán faoi seo. Chríochnaigh Isidore a chúraimí feirme i gcónaí áfach. Deirtear gur chabhraigh na haingil go minic leis.
Tá cáil ar Isidore don bhfreastal a dhein sé ar na bochtáin. Thug sé bia dóibh go minic agus deirtear gur iomaí miorúilt a thárla, is é ag roinnt bídh leo. Bhí ana-mheas agus cion aige ar ainmithe chomh maith agus ghoil sé air muna mbíodh daoine cneasta leo.
Phós sé bean darbh ainm Maria de la Cabeza, a bhí mar naomh ina dhiaidh chomh maith. Bhí leanbh amháin acu ach fuair sé bás nuair a bhí sé ana-óg.
Bhí ana-chuid dea-thréithe ag Isidore. Chuir sé a mhuinín go hiomlán i nDia. Bhí sé díograiseach agus chuir sé fuinneamh ina chuid oibre. Bhí sé dílis don bpaidreoireacht agus deabhóideach don Eaglais.
Roghnaigh mé an t-ainm Isidore, mar Naomh Patrún d’fheirmeoirí is ea é agus tá ana-shuim agam i bhfheirmeoireacht. Fuair mé amach chomh maith go bhfuil mo lá briethe ar Lá Fhéile Naomh Isidore ó Seville (4ú Aibreán). (Owen – Scoil Eoin Baiste)

Marriage is important –
Reflect before you change it.
Marriage is of fundamental importance for children, mothers and fathers, and society – all of us need to reflect deeply before changing it. Ahead of the referendum on 22 May, bishops ask the faithful to carefully consider that:
• A woman and man united in marriage are witness to God’s plan for both life and love in a way unlike any other relationship of human persons.
• Central to the current debate on marriage is the very nature of marriage itself and the importance that society places on the role of mothers and fathers in bringing up children.
• The union of marriage provides for the continuation of the human race and the development of human society.
• The proposed amendment would radically change the current protection offered to marriage by the Constitution of Ireland – the foundation stone of society.

Laochra PSCD 7 Corn Uí hÓgáin 2015
Comhghairdeas ó chroí arís le laochra P.S.C.D. a bheir Craobh na hÉireann i bPáirc an Chrócaigh don dara uair as a chéile.
“Is i Meán Fómhair 2007 a d’oscail an scoil nuabhunaithe, Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, a doirse. Scoil chomhnasctha í a d’eascair ó Mheánscoil na Toirbhirte agus ó Meanscoil na mBráithre. Bhí traidisiún láidir luachmhar cultúir agus cluichí cruthaithe sa dá scoil anuas tríd na blianta agus níorbh aon ionadh gur leanadar seo ag dul ó neart go neart sa Phobalscoil. Bhí cáil na peile ar Mheánscoil na mBráithre sa Daingean anuas tríd an gcéad seo caite agus go deimhin féin ba mhó pheileadóir clúiteach idirchontae a d’imir don scoil sin le linn a n-óige.
Ba dheas liom an deis seo a thógaint chun buíochas a ghabháil leis na clubanna áitiúla agus le foireann bhainsitíochta na foirne. Ta go leor ama caite acu ag obair go dian chun cabhrú leis na hógánaigh barr a maitheasa a bhaint amach ar pháirc na himeartha.
Deinim comhghairdeas ó chroí le gach ball den fhoireann a thraenáil go dian, dícheallach agus atá ag seasamh an fhóid le chéile i rith na bliana. Buíochas ar leith do gach duine a thug urraíocht dúinn i rith na bliana.
Tá an-chreidiúint ag dul don bPobalscoil ar a bhfuil 230 buachaill agus 205 cailín ag freastal i mbliana.
Ar ndóigh ní féidir luach a chuir ar thacaíocht agus ar spreagadh na dtuismitheoirí. Dia leo go léir!”
“Ar scáth a chéile”
