Thought for the Day: Joy in believing might seem an “extra” in today’s challenging climate for faith. Many of us struggle simply to hold on, not to mention being exuberant about it all. And yet, of course there is deep happiness in faith. First of all, everything around is a gift and behind all the gifts stands a giver. Secondly, love is at the heart of it all and, in the faith, nothing is ever “lost” or “wasted.” Faith, hope and love endure and the greatest of these is love. Finally, why not “permit” ourselves true joy in all that God has done for us and still does for us in Jesus and in the Holy Spirit? Prayer: We believe, loving God, that you take delight in all you have made. Open up in us again the springs of joy, that we may delight in you, our true joy.

Pope Francis Twitter: The Word of God plunges us into daily life and calls us to listen to the cry of the poor and heed the violence and injustice that wound our world. It challenges Christians not to be indifferent,
but to be active, creative and prophetic.
Priest on duty this Sunday:
Fr Eoghan Ó Cadhla 087-6951318.

Parish Envelopes 2023: If there are any Parishioners who would like to receive Parish Envelopes for 2023, please contact the Presbytery on 066-9151208 as soon as possible. Using the envelopes allows the Parish to claim back tax from PAYE Workers and Self-Employed who have contributed €250 or more during the year. Buíochas ó chroí for your great support and generosity.

We would be most grateful if the people that received the taxback letters recently could return the enduring certificate as soon as possible in the stamped addressed envelope. Fill in your PPS number and sign the cert. By completing the certificate you allow the Parish to claim back the tax without any cost to you. Many thanks for your generosity.

2023 Parish Envelopes, Calendar and Christmas Dues Envelopes will be distributed to households in the coming week. There will be a separate box for Christmas Dues at the back of our 3 Parishes Churches at the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses for your personal contribution to the Parish Priest. Envelopes can also be placed in the Building Fund Boxes at the back of the 3 churches. NB: If paying by cheque, please make cheque payable to Teach na Sagart for Dues and Dingle Parish for Parish. Míle buíochas for your continued support of the Parish and its Priest.

Vocations: ‘Just as John the Baptist answered the call to be a “voice in the wilderness” to “prepare a way for the Lord” – we pray for those in our society who are called to be the voice in the wilderness of our modern society by living their lives in service as a priest, deacon or religious.’ If interested in becoming a Priest, please contact Fr Michael Moynihan.
