Thought for the Day: In a culture where God is, apparently, absent, it may sound strange to hear words such as “Do not be afraid” and “God is with us.” Such assurances are at the heart our biblical faith from start to finish. Everyone who is anyone in the Bible is told not to be afraid. And the assurance “I will be with you” is found throughout starting with the very name of God in Ex 3:14, I am who I am. The God, in whom we live and move and have our being, is there all along, whether we are aware of it or not. Faith is the moment of discovery and recognition. Prayer: You are with us always: you are with us in creation in all its splendour, in our fellow human beings in all their generosity, you are with us in the quiet where we are alone with you. Amen.

Ideal Christmas Gift: The Exile’s Return, by Fr Pat McCarthy is an original song which has been composed and recorded as a tribute to the victorious Kerry team and management. CD at €10 are available from the Parish Office.

Christmas Crib Appeal 2022. Míle buíochas to all who have put up the Cribs in our three Parish Churches. This year your Crib donations will again go to the Cara Project in Kenya. The funds donated last year to Cara, helped young girls who have suffered terribly, are often orphaned and frequently pregnant from assault. Every Euro given helps build a future for these girls; food, clothing, education and employment. Your support for the Cara projects in Kenya is greatly appreciated. One girl has written of their experience in Kenya. The full letter can be read on our website, dingleparish.ie

Vocations: ‘Just as John the Baptist answered the call to be a “voice in the wilderness” to “prepare a way for the Lord” – we pray for those in our society who are called to be the voice in the wilderness of our modern society by living their lives in service as a priest, deacon or religious.’ If interested in becoming a Priest, please contact Fr Michael Moynihan.

€€Online giving€€. You can make a donation to the Parish online by clicking on the Donate button on our Parish website.

Pope Francis Twitter: This is a difficult time for humanity, but it is also a propitious time of salvation, in which the Lord, through the Virgin Mary, continues to give us His Son, who calls us to fraternity, to set aside selfishness, indifference and enmity, and to get involved with each other.
