Machnamh / Reflection

C Is for Christ child who was sleeping on the hay.
H Is for heavenly host who worshipped him that day.
R Is for radiance on Mary’s holy face.
I Is for the lowly inn – a poor and humble place.
S Is for the star that shone to guide the shepherds there.
T Is for the Three Kings who brought him treasures rare.
M Is for the manger where he laid his little head.
A Is for the angles that hovered round his bed.
S Is for saviour who brought peace and hope on earth on the wondrous night we celebrate – the night of Jesus’ birth.

Just a Thought / Smaoineamh

Christmas gathers us together in a great universal fellowship in the name of Christ. We feel a desire to reach out to others. This is the miracle of Christmas. As we gaze on the new born Baby Jesus in the crib we are put in touch with our common humanity and with our shared fears and hopes. Our world illuminates meaning and hope inspired by the joyful news. “Today a saviour has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord.”
