Thought for the day: To us, leprosy or any serious skin condition is a medical and perhaps a cosmetic issue. In Jesus’ day, by contrast, such things entailed social exclusion and the sufferer became literally untouchable. Hence the shock in the Gospel: he touched him. Before congratulating ourselves for not being so “primitive,” it might not be any harm to ask who are the marginalised and excluded in our own time and culture? The categories are wide: socio-economic groups, ethnicity, orientation, religion. Are there people I never encounter? Prayer: Where charity and love prevail, there God is ever found; Brought here together by Christ’s love, by love are we thus bound. No race or creed can love exclude, if honoured be God’s name; our common life embraces all whose Father is the same. Fr K. O’Mahony OSA.

Priest on duty this Sunday:
Fr Michael Moynihan: 087-6551902.

Ash Wednesday 2021 February 17th, is a day of fast and abstinence. To celebrate Ash Wednesday, you are invited to participate in Masses online. There will be no distribution of ashes at Masses. Lent calls us to ‘come back to God with all our heart’ and the practices of prayer, fasting and giving to charity are a way of making real our return to God. Ashes marking our foreheads remind us of our human frailty and our dependence on God. This year, people are invited to trace the sign of the cross on themselves or on each others’ foreheads at home. Marking Ash Wednesday at Home is a prayer resource available on www.dioceseofkerry.ie

Mass Cards are available from the Parish Office. You can ring 066-9151208 and we can arrange for you to call or the cards can be posted out to anyone who requires them.

Online giving You can make a donation to the Parish by clicking on the Donate button on our Parish website. €415.76 received since Jan 1st. Many thanks for your generosity.

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

A Coronavirus Prayer
Loving and healing God,
we turn to you in prayer, confident that you are with us and with all people in every moment.

We stand before you as people of hope, trusting in your care and protection.
May your faithful love support us and soothe the anxiety of our hearts.

Generous God,
fill us with compassion and concern for others, young and old,
that we may look after one another in these challenging days.

Bring healing to those who are sick with the virus and be with their families. May those who have died rest in your eternal embrace.
Comfort their family and friends.

Strengthen and protect all medical professionals caring for the sick and all who work in our medical facilities. Give wisdom to leaders in healthcare and governance
that they may make the right decisions for the well-being of people.

We pray in gratitude for all those in our country who will continue to work in the days ahead in so many fields of life for the sake of us all.
Bless them and keep them safe.

O God of creation and life,
we place ourselves in your protection.
May the mantle of your peace enfold us this day and tomorrow.
St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.

May all the saints of God, pray for us. Amen.
