Thought for the day: We live in a very noisy, busy world, a culture marked by constant distraction. Even at the ordinary level of relationship, attending to the other, really hearing him or her, is a challenge. It happens when we choose to make space, to shut out the other noises and graciously attend to each other. Something similar may be said of the life of the spirit. To listen to the Son happens when we choose it and, in a practical way, create spaces in our lives for such encounters. Prayer: Revealer God, you open your heart to us in your Son Jesus. Help us to open our hearts to you, as we contemplate your living word. May the Scriptures be for us a place of true encounter and may we, hearers of the Word, listen with our hearts and lives to him, the Word made flesh.

Pope Francis on X: War is always a defeat. Wherever fighting occurs, people are exhausted. Let us pray together tirelessly, because prayer is effective. May we ask the Lord for the gift of minds and hearts dedicated concretely to peace.

Gluten Free hosts are available from the Priest at Communion time.

Parish Listening Evening: In his Pastoral Letter, Moving Forward in Hope”, Bishop Ray invites all parishioners to participate in a consultation process to shape the future of pastoral areas and parishes. A consultation gathering will be held in our parish on Tuesday, February 27th at 7.30pm in Benner’s Hotel. As preparation for the gathering, you are invited to reflect on the following questions:

1. Without the presence of a priest to lead and coordinate, what aspects of parish life could we, the laity, take responsibility for and organise ourselves?

2. Where do we see scope for cooperation with neighbouring parishes in our pastoral area?

Fr Michael will visit the housebound  Thursday/Friday, February 29th/March 1st.

Tá scéal Mhalita ar na Boscaí Trócaire i mbliana.  Tá Malita agus a clann ina gcónaí sa Mhaláiv sa Aifric.  Tá an tír seo ag fulaingt de bharr athrú aeráide. Teipeann ar na barraí gan a dhóthain uisce nó an iomarca uisce scuabtar na barraí chun siúil.  Bíonn ar chlann Mhalita na mílte a shiúl gach lá chun uisce a fháil agus mar gheall ar seo go minic bíonn siad déanach don scoil.
