Thought for the day: “Silence is the language God speaks and everything else is a bad translation” is variously attributed. Whoever penned it, it strikes a chord on the feast of the Holy and Undivided Trinity. As we stand before the absolute mystery of God, one and three, transcendent and immanent, greater than our hearts and yet closer to us than we are to ourselves, wordless prayer is fitting. And yet…the Mysterious Silence has been broken, if not by “mere” words then certainly by the Word made flesh, whose Spirit has been poured into our hearts. Prayer: God, beyond our minds and ideas, our hearts and our feelings, we believe absolutely in your love for each and for all. Let your astonishing love kindle in our inner selves a response of love and wonder. Amen. (Fr Kieran O’Mahony OSA)

Pope’s Intention for June: That the world may grow in compassion: Let us pray that each one of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from his Heart, learn to have compassion on the world.
Pope Leo XIV on X: Let us ask from the Holy Spirit the gift of peace. Peace begins in our hearts, for only a peaceful heart can spread peace in the family, society, and international relations. May the Spirit of the Risen Christ open paths of reconciliation wherever there is war. May He enlighten those who govern and give them the courage to take steps toward de-escalation and dialogue.

Prayer: O most holy heart of Jesus,

Make me humble, patient, pure and
wholly obedient to your will.
Paidir do Scoláirí: Loving God be with me now as I prepare for my exams. Thank you for the many talents, gifts and the opportunity of education you have given me. Calm my nerves and anxiety, help me to remember all that I have studied, to express it clearly and to answer the questions to the best of my ability. Holy Spirit, be with me in my exams – and always. Amen.
We pray for all who are sitting exams these days, may the Lord be with each one of them, may he keep them calm and focused and may the Holy Spirit guide and help them.
Prayer of Blessed Henry Newman:
O Lord, support us all day long,
until the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging and a holy rest, and peace at last.
