Thought for the day: While it is not comfortable, to be in crisis is probably the natural state of the Christian project. Even in Jesus’ day: “Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets. (Luke 6:26) Likewise, quite early on, the story of the storm at sea was read as a kind of allegory, representing the (later) church undergoing trials. The natural feeling of being abandoned is captured in the raw emotion of Mark’s account. Mark also tells us where to seek help: Who then is this? Like the disciples, we have no full understanding of Jesus and yet, like them, to him we turn. Prayer: Lord, the sea is so wide and my boat is so small. Be with me. Fr K O’Mahony OSA.

Pope Francis – Tweet: Our prayers are fulfilled and completed when we intercede for others and take care of their concerns and needs. Prayer does not separate us or isolate us from anyone, as it is love for all.

Couple & Relationships Counselling.

Biodiversity: Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Sí encourages us to care for the Earth. In light of this the grass on the grounds of Lispole Church will be cut less frequently this year. There is a wide range of wild flowers in the church grounds. For more information visit www.pollinators.ie

Reflection – A Celtic Prayer
I rise today
with God’s strength to direct me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eyes to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to uphold me,
God’s pathway before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me –
from temptations,
from one man or many
that seek to destroy me. Amen.
