Thought for the day: We are all aware of the fleeting nature of time and we all have experience of the missed opportunity, the moment of grace, however secular, overlooked. At the same time, we know that our God is the God of second chances and that it is never truly over. Like Augustine, we hear the insistent murmur, “if not now, when?” That future moment of grace will be just like this one, ordinary, nothing special, fleeting and yet it is the only moment that exists, the “now” of our everyday.

Prayer: Patient and insistent God, knock again on the door of our hearts. We are never really ready, a sign perhaps of our everyday need of you. Help us undertake again to dig around and manure, so that under your grace, we may bear fruit, fruit that will last. Amen. (Fr Kieran O’Mahony)

Pope Francis on ‘X’: I would like to invite you, today, to join me in praising the Lord, who never abandons us and who, in times of sorrow, places people beside us who reflect a ray of His love. I thank you all for your prayers, and I thank those who assist me with such dedication.

Tap to Donate terminals, at the back of St Mary’s Church, are programmed to donate €5 to the Parish each time they are used.

Ceann de na bagairtí is mó atá romhainn ná an athrú aeráide.  Ach tarlaíonn sé go minic, gurb iad na daoine is lú a chuireann leis an ngéarchéim na daoine is mó atá buailte ag na hiarmhairtí millteanacha. Easter Date: At the Council of Nicaea in 325, the date for Easter was fixed as the Sunday after the full moon after the spring equinox. Sunday, April 20th is the feast of Easter this year. Eastern Christians calculate the date of Easter according to the Julian Calendar, the Calendar in general use before the Gregorian reform of 1582. One of the reforms was the removal of ten days from the Calendar and this discrepancy, now thirteen days, between the Julian and Gregorian Calendars results often in a difference in the date for Easter in East and West as they follow the two Calendars. But in 2025 both Calendars have the same date for Easter: April 20th.

Lent: Pray, Fast, Give
