Machnamh / Reflection

An Easter Prayer

God, give us eyes to see
the beauty of the Spring,
and to behold your majesty
in every living thing –
and may we see in lacy leaves
and every budding flower
the hand that rules the universe
with gentleness and power –
and may this Easter grandeur
that Spring lavishly imparts
awaken faded flowers of faith
lying dormant in our hearts,
and give us ears to hear, dear God,
the Springtime song of birds
with messages more meaningful
than man’s often empty words
telling harried human beings
who are lost in dark despair –
‘Be like us and do not worry
For God has you in his care.’

May the peace and joy of the Risen Christ grace us in our journey these Easter days.
Easter Garden
Many thanks to all who have been so generous in donations towards the Easter Garden Figures and Holy Water Containers in memory of loved ones or as a personal donation. Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact the parish on 066-9151208. We are most grateful to our volunteers who arranged the Easter Gardens in our three Churches. Míle Buíochas.

Smaoineamh / Just a Thought
Easter provides an enormous injection of hope for the human spirit. It lights up our world with hope. All is different because Jesus is alive and speaks his words of peace to us as he spoke them to the apostles.
Faith in the resurrection of Jesus is the basis of our hope of eternal life, a hope which enables us to bear patently the trials of life. Therefore, there is a quiet joy among us and a deep sense of peace because we know that life is stronger than death, love is stronger than fear, and hope is stronger than despair.
