Thought for the day: Traditionally, we have found it easier to think of the cross as the measure of God’s love for us. Perhaps, because of the focus on the cross, we find it more difficult to think of the resurrection as also the love of God, even “all the more so”! The originality of the Fourth Gospel says it all: the disciple Jesus loved, the head cloth recalling Lazarus (see how much he loved him) and, not least, the great figure of Mary Magdalene (Mary!). In summary, Jesus died and rose again for love of us.

Prayer: Loving God, you love us more than we can imagine or take in. Help us to allow ourselves to be so loved by you, that your love may penetrate our hearts, our lives and our loves. We ask this through Jesus, who died and rose for love of us and who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Offertory Collection: €1,939.00.

Trócaire received to date €850.00.

Donate terminals, located at the back of St Mary’s Church, are programmed to donate €5 to the Parish each time they are used.

Pope Francis on X: Let us pray for peace. May the Lord grant peace to martyred Ukraine, as it suffers heavy bombardment, and to Israel and Palestine. May there be peace in the Holy Land. May the Lord grant all of us His gift of Peace this Easter.

Pope’s Intention for April: For the role of Women: We pray that the dignity and immense value of women be recognised in every culture, and for the end of discrimination that they experience in different parts of the world.

Fear is the deafening sound of war. Love is the hand that quietens it

Fear is the voice that is never heard. Love is breaking the silence

Fear is the truth that is locked in the dark. Love is the courage that feeds it

Fear is the hunger that starves all hope. Love is the food that feeds it.

As long as pain exists, as long as suffering is here, we will stay.

Until love conquers Fear.

Alleluia!  All glory, praise and honour to You, Most Glorious Lord Jesus!  You have risen from the grave, You have conquered sin and death, You have opened the gates to Heaven!  Alleluia!  All praise and honour to You, Most Glorious Lord Jesus! Alleluia!

Happy Easter!

Machnamh Alleluia, alleluia!  Tá Críost, ár gCáisc, ofráilte mar íobairt; dá bhrí sin, caithimis an fhéile sa Tiarna.  Alleluia!
