A Coronavirus Prayer
Loving and healing God,
we turn to you in prayer, confident that you are with us and with all people in every moment.

We stand before you as people of hope, trusting in your care and protection.
May your faithful love support us and soothe the anxiety of our hearts.

Generous God,
fill us with compassion and concern for others, young and old,
that we may look after one another in these challenging days.

Bring healing to those who are sick with the virus and be with their families. May those who have died rest in your eternal embrace.
Comfort their family and friends.

Strengthen and protect all medical professionals caring for the sick and all who work in our medical facilities. Give wisdom to leaders in healthcare and governance
that they may make the right decisions for the well-being of people.

We pray in gratitude for all those in our country who will continue to work in the days ahead in so many fields of life for the sake of us all.
Bless them and keep them safe.

O God of creation and life,
we place ourselves in your protection.
May the mantle of your peace enfold us this day and tomorrow.

St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.

May all the saints of God, pray for us. Amen.

Candles for graves are available from the Parish Office, €4 each or 3 for €10.

Mass Schedule 2021: Given that Annascaul Parish does not have a resident Priest and the Parish is served by the 3 surrounding Parishes, including Dingle, changes to the Mass schedule in all 4 Parishes are being discussed at this time. Some Churches will have Mass once every two weeks and some will not have a Sunday morning Mass. I encourage you to attend Mass on a weekly basis (when restrictions are lifted) even if Mass is further from your local Church.

Lá Chaitlíona – 25ú Samhain.
Mass, without a congregation, will be celebrated in Séipéal Naomh Caitlín on Wednesday next at 11.00am. The Mass will be live streamed on the parish webcam on http://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/paroiste-naomh-muire-dingle. Click on the Mobile Camera tab.

Join the Diocesan Youth Choir: To celebrate Christmas 2020, the diocese invites all young people, between 16-30 years of age, to join our virtual choir. If you are interested, please contact Tomás Kenny at 086 3683778 or email tomaskenny@dioceseofkerry.ie

Thought for the day: The image of the king is a foundational metaphor in the Bible, which in ordinary usage suggests power and glory. But even in the ancient biblical tradition, there are two significant modifications. According to an Old Testament vision, a king is meant to be a shepherd to his people, a true shepherd who cares for and who knows and even loves his sheep. According to a New Testament vision, Jesus our king rules paradoxically by loving service, humility and the gift of himself. This example and teaching of Jesus have lost none of their power.
