Crib Donations For BETHLEHEM and SOUTH AFRICA

Your donations given through our three Parish Cribs will go directly to aid needy people in South Africa and the Middle East. A local lay missionary embarks on a Volunteer Missionary Movement African Project as a teacher in a Catholic Secondary School. Monies donated will help fund the provision of necessary materials which otherwise would not be available or affordable for the students.

The Order of Malta run the Holy Family Hospital which is 800m from the birthplace of Jesus in Bethlehem. 22,000 women and children are cared for annually through outpatient consultations and outreach services.

We invite your personal and community support and solidarity with all our Irish volunteers for these projects.

Bígí fial flaithiúil arís.

Ministers of The Eucharist

A Íosa mhilis,

ní suíochán duit mo theanga,

ní lóistín duit mo chroí;

Ach bronn orm do bheannaitheacht,

‘s go bhfana sí agam choíche.

(Gairdín an Anama: An Sagart)

Over Christmas President McAleese saluted the generosity and spirit of volunteerism manifested during the recent flooding in our country. This spirit has been clearly evident in many actions of concern and care shown during our post-Christmas adverse weather. We are calling upon your spirit of Faith and generosity in supporting our parish campaign to seek, invite and train extra Ministers of the Eucharist for Pastoral Service in Naomh Caitlín, Naomh Eoin Baiste agus Naomh Muire.

Therefore, we ask you to take a moment to pray and discuss before recommending family members or neighbours whom you will nominate for this ministry in our Parish. Together with Annascaul and Castlegregory Parishes, we are organising a short course of preparation in An Díseart during this Lent.

“As this broken bread was scattered over the hills and was brought together becoming one, so gather Your Church from the ends of the earth into Your kingdom, for You have all power and glory forever through Jesus Christ.”          (Didache c. 100 AD)

More details to follow. If anybody is interested, contact Fr. Jim Sheehy at jimsheehy@diseart.ie or at the Díseart: 066-9152476.

Radio na Gaeltachta Masses

The following letter has been sent to local and national politicians as well as Raidió na Gaeltachta officials, highlighting our concern at the decision to cut back on Sunday Masses.  We would invite concerned parishioners to lobby their elected representatives in order to restore the weekly Mass on RnaG.

We recognise the great work done by RnaG in broadcasting Sunday Mass and pray that the resources and political will might be found to continue this invaluable service.

A Chara,

Tá baill Chomhairle Tréadach Pharóiste an Daingin i mbun teanghála le Raidió na Gaeltachta chun a míshuaimhneas a chur i ndúil faoin athrú obann a déanadh ar sceideal Raidió na Gaeltachta le déanaí. Cuireadh chun cinn an gearán seo ag cruinniú Paróiste ar an 15ú Eanáir. Geobhaidh tú iniata cóip de seo a luann go bhfuil an Aifreann traidisiúnta Domhnaigh le gearradh siar go Domhnach amháin as gach ceathair. Thug ár gcruinniú chun solais an míshástacht agus an míshuaimhneas a chuirfidh  sé seo mar ualach orthu siúd atá gafa sa bhaile ar chúis breoiteachta sa Ghaeltacht agus i gceantair eile, dár n-iascairí agus iad ag obair agus do dhaoine eile timpeall na tire, ó thuaidh agus ó dheas agus thar lear fiú.

Tá sé de phribhléid againn sa pharóiste seo bheith ag craoladh Aifreann an Domhnaigh le comhoibriú Raidió na Gaeltachta agus tuigimid go rí mhaith cé chomh luachmhar is atá an seirbhís seo dóibh siúd atá breoite sa bhaile a bheadh gan Aifreann mura mbeadh an seirbhís seo. Táimid ag glaoch oraibh seasamh a dhéanamh gan mhoill ar shon na ndaoine seo agus dian iarracht a dhéanamh an seirbhís luachmhar seo a athnuachan. Tuigimid gur costas an bheag atá i gceist leis an seirbhís seo a chur ar fail agus tá sé de cheart ag baill an pharóiste a dhíolann as cheadúnas teilifíse a leithéid de sheirbhís a iarradh.

Tá súil go mór ag Comhairle Tréadach an pharóiste focal a fháil ó Raidió na Gaeltachta faoin aicsean atá said le tógáil ar an gceist seo. Bheadh an fháilte againn leis cloisteáil ón Raidió faoi thoscaireacht a eagrú le bualadh libh nó le aon Airí Stáit nó oifigigh a mholfadh sibh dúinn.”
