“Ar scáth a chéile maireann Pobal Dé”

Litir ó Easpag Chiarraí Liam Ó Murchú D.D.

A Phobal Dé,

Is mór an chúis bróin agus náire dhom a bhfuil sa Tuarascáil, ón mbreitheamh Uí Mhurchú, faoi mí-úsáid gnéasach ar leanaí ag sagairt i nArd Dheoise Átha Cliath. Is mian liom mo fhíor chomhbhrón agus aiféala a chur I n-iúil dóibh seo ar baineadh mí-úsáid gnéasach astu agus iad ina leanaí; cé go bhfuil fhios agam nach dtuigfidh mé riamh go h-iomlán an méad pian agus fulaingt a leanann dá bharr.

Gníomhartha coiriúla agus oilc atá faoi iniúchadh sa tuarascáil, agus léiríonn sé chomh fáilíocht agus chomh easnamhach a bhí an tslí a chuathas i ngleic leis an bhfadhb. Déanaim achainí arís orthu seo uile, go mbaineadh mí-úsáid gnéasach astú, iad féin a chur i n-iúil, mura bhfuil san déanta acu cheana féin. Geallaim dóibh go nglacfar leo le meas agus le tuiscint.

Tá Deoise Chiarraí tugtha go h-iomlán do chosaint leanaí agus daoine óga. Tá polasaithe agus rialacha i bhfeidhm, agus tá daoine i ngach paróiste chun aire a thabhairt do leanaí agus daoine óga nuair a bhíonn siad páirteach i ngníomhaíocht Eaglasta ina bparóiste.

Ag tús na h-Aidbhinte – tréimhse aithrí agus dóchais, – guím go dtiocfaidh faoiseamh agus leigheas chuchu seo uile atá gortaithe agus a bhraitheann tréigthe de bharr faillí na hEaglaise.

Míúin na hAidbhinte

Is beannaithe an nóiméad a rugadh Mac na hÓighe i meán oíche i mBeithil i lár an gheimhridh ghairbh. Deonaigh, a Íosa, trí bhrí agus onóir do Mháthair rónafa, ár saol, ár sláinte agus ár neart a chaitheamh i d’ sheirbhís bheannaithe, tríd an Slánaitheoir naofa agus a Mháthair Bheannaithe ag treisúint go glóir na bhflaitheas. A Naíonáin uasail bheannaithe, déan trócaire orainn.

Hail and Blessed be the hour and moment

in which the Son of God

was born of the most pure Virgin Mary,

at midnight in Bethlehem in piercing cold.

In that hour vouchsafe, O my God,

to hear my prayer, and grant my desires,

through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ,

And His Blessed Mother. Amen

All hail, most loving most holy, most amiable Infant Jesus, King of our souls! Blessed be the hour in which Thy Holy Mother will give Thee to us as our ransom. O most beautiful, give us grace to receive Thee worthily on the Feast of Thy Nativity and grant us the true spirit of that festival.

(Prayers from the Franciscan Tradition)
