Pray the Congress Prayer:
Lord Jesus,
You were sent by the Father
to gather together those who are scattered.
You came among us, doing good and bringing healing,
announcing the Word of salvation
and giving the Bread which lasts forever.
Be our companion on life’s pilgrim way.
May your Holy Spirit inflame our hearts,
enliven our hope and open our minds,
so that together with our sisters and brothers in faith
we may recognise you in the Scriptures
and in the breaking of bread.
May your Holy Spirit transform us into one body
and lead us to walk humbly on the earth,
in justice and love,
as witnesses of your resurrection.
In communion with Mary,
whom you gave to us as our Mother
at the foot of the cross,
through you
may all praise, honour and blessing be to the Father
in the Holy Spirit and in the Church,
Now and forever.
Amen.
Misean an Phobail 2010
In our last weekend’s “Sunday Message” we acknowledged by name the fourteen members of our visiting Mission team in deep appreciation of their ministry to us all. We put on record now our sincere thanks to all in our Parish community who worked so well both before and during our week of Mission. Thanks to all who care for our churches and schools, all who helped plan and promote the Mission, everybody who presented the liturgies, dramas, music and our teams of collectors and all those who generously supported the collections and not forgetting those thoughtful parishioners who sent in apple pies and home baking for our Missioners.
Dingle Parish Pastoral Council encourages all parishioners to know about all our apostolic groupings and liturgical celebrations. Any person who would like to become more involved in the life and work of the Church is invited to make contact with Fr. Tomás, Fr. Bernard or any leader of such Parish activities. Young folk (18 – 30) interested in travelling to Madrid’s World Youth Day next summer might contact Fr. Bernard as Kerry Diocese will be sending youth representatives.
Christ the King Sunday affords a golden opportunity to reflect on how you can be engaged in building up Christ’s Kingdom of love and mercy, justice and peace in your own home Parish.
Next Sunday we will prepare and decorate our Jesse Trees heralding the coming of Emmanuel and outlining his own Family Tree and lineage. Looking back on a dark week of tragic violence and pain in Limerick and Cork we can all rely strongly on Críost ár nDóchas – Christ Our Hope.
Remembering in November
Remembering
We all love to be remembered.
but if we want to be remembered,
we have a duty also to remember.
Memory is a powerful thing.
Wrongly used it brings death.
Rightly used it brings life,
and is a form of immortality.
It keeps the past alive.
Those we remember never die;
they continue to walk and talk with us.
We want you to know that we haven’t forgotten you.
We remember you.
And your memory most definitely
brings life to us today.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord let his face shine on you,
And be gracious to you.
May the Lord look kindly on you and give you peace. Amen.
Mass for the dead will be celebrated during November as follows:
Mondays in Naomh Muire, Dingle, 7.30pm.

Fridays in Eoin Baiste, Lios Póil, 7.30pm.
NB: There will be no evening Mass in St. Mary’s on Tuesday and Friday during November.

Prayer for the Unborn
Pope Benedict will celebrate a vigil for All Nascent Human Life in St Peter’s Basilica on Saturday 27th November, the eve of the First Sunday of Advent. The Pope has invited all Diocesan Bishops and Catholics throughout the world to join in prayer for this intention. The purpose of the Vigil is to “thank the Lord for his total self-giving in the world and for his Incarnation which gave every human life its real worth and dignity” and to “invoke the Lord’s protection over every human being called into existence.” The Vigil is also to “promote the commitment and the ecclesial witness for a culture of life and love.”
Our Diocesan liturgy for this intention will be celebrated at St Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney on Saturday 27th November after the 6.15pm Vigil Mass.
You are invited to pray the
Prayer of Pope John Paul II from his letter
Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life):
O Mary, bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love
to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. (EV 105)
