Machnamh agus Línte Oscailte

Chuala Samúéil guth an Tiarna i dteampall mór Iarúsailéim i lár na hoíche. Chuala Aindrias guth Íosa cois Abhainn na hIordáine um mheán-lae. Chuala Peadar glaoch Íosa ar dtús ar bheola a dhearthár. “Tá an Slánaitheoir casta linn,” a dúirt sé, agus thug go dtí Íosa é. Bhí Francach, André Froissard, ainchreidmheach críochnaithe, ag gabháil leis i lár chathair Pháras. Labhair an Tiarna leis. Scríobh  sé leabhar dar teideal: Tá Dia ann – Casadh orm é.

Labhair Aindrias le hÍosa cois Abhainn na hIordáine um mheán-lae. Is féidir leatsa labhairt leis i do chroí istigh aon nóiméad den lá nó den oíche, agus eisean leatsa! Ach ní boc mór é. Ba chirte a rá gur cara é, leannán, céile croí, do mhac, d’iníon féin. Rud is maith leis, i mbéarlagar an lae atá inniu ann, na línte a bheith oscailte i gcónaí!

Seachtain na Scoileanna Caitliceacha 2012

Catholic Schools Week 29Jan – Feb 4

The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2012 is ‘Catholic Schools: Christ’s living body active in our world.’

The theme is taken from the anthem of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress, Though We Are Many – (Bernard Sexton), and reflects the overall theme of the Eucharistic Congress – ‘The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and with one another.’

Though we are many – Verse 3:

“And through this shared Eucharist
we are the living Church.
We witness to Christ’s love
His living body active in our world.”

The Catholic School …

  • Has at its heart the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ
  • Builds an environment of care and concern for others that is rooted in Catholic social teaching
  • Creates a safe and happy learning environment where every child is encouraged and enabled to develop to their full and unique potential as human beings, made in the image and likeness of God
  • Seeks educational excellence while remaining faithful to their distinctive vision and approach
  • Is an inclusive and respectful community, welcoming children of all denominations and of none
  • Acknowledges the role of parents as the first teachers in the ways of faith and provides opportunities for their participation in the life of the school
  • Works in partnership with parents and the parish community to keep the light of faith burning brightly
  • Provides religious education programmes that confirm and deepen the child’s understanding of the Catholic faith so that every child will be as articulate in their faith as in all other areas of the curriculum
  • Nurtures the child’s appreciation and understanding of the sacramental life of the Church
  • Displays the symbols of our rich Catholic faith tradition
  • Spends time as a school community in reflection, prayer, ritual, celebrating the Eucharist and other sacraments to develop the spiritual life of each person in the school community.

Schools’ Information Meeting

A public meeting for the parents, teachers and concerned members of the public of all Primary schools in Corca Dhuibhne, regarding the recent changes to schools numbers, school closures and loss of grants will be held in on Monday January 23rd in Pobalscoil Corca Dhuibhne at 7.30pm.
