The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (The RCIA)
After the summer break we are hoping, early in October, to resume the RCIA meetings. The meetings will be held in the Díseart 7.00pm to 8.30pm on Monday evenings and will be open to anybody, not brought up in the Catholic faith but interested in learning more about it and about what it means to become a full member of the Catholic Church.
The meetings will be relaxed and informal and will consist of a brief presentation on the subject or topic of the evening given by a member of the RCIA team, which will be followed by time for discussion and sharing; then there will be a short period of quiet reflection and sharing on a passage of Sacred Scripture and will finish with a brief prayer service. At the end there will be time for light refreshments and a chat.
If you are interested, or if you know somebody who may be interested in joining the group please get in touch with the Parish Priest in your local parish or area who will be very happy to answer any queries you may have and will put you in touch with a member of the RCIA team. (Fr. Jim Sheehy of the Chorca Dhuibhne RCIA team).

Go mbeannaí Dia duit, a Eoin Baiste Naofa,
Go mbeannaí Muire duit, agus beannaím féin duit.
Is chugat a tháinig mé ag gearrán mo phéin’ duit,
Is ag iarraidh carthanachta as ucht Dé ort.
May God bless you, St. John the Baptist,
May Mary bless you, and I bless you myself.
To you I have come to complain of my trouble
And to ask your charity for the love of God.
