Children’s Prayer after Communion
Jesus, I love and adore you.
You’re a special friend to me.
Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome,
Thank you for coming to me.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you,
For giving yourself to me,
Make me strong to show your love
Wherever I may be.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay
Close by me for ever and love me, I pray,
Bless all of us children in your loving care,
And bring us to heaven to live with you there.

I’m ready now, Lord Jesus,
To show how much I care,
I’m ready now to give your love
At home and everywhere. Amen.

Prayer Before An Exam

O Loving Father,

I pray that

My mind be rested,

My body energised,

And my spirit inspired

For the exam I must present.

Give me peace and assurance

So that I might do my best.

May God’s Spirit of Wisdom

Enlighten me and guide me

Lord Jesus be by my side

As I present this exam. Amen

An Memorare

Cuimhnigh, a Mhaighdean Mhuire róghrámhar, nár chualathas trácht ar éinne riamh a chuir é féin faoi do choimirce ná a d’iarr cabhair ort ná a d’impigh d’idirghuí is gur theip tú air. Lán de mhuinín asat, dá bhrí sin, rithimse chugat, a Mhaighdean na maighdean is a Mháthair. Is chugatsa a thagaim, is os do chomhair a sheasaim, i mo pheacach bocht atuirseach. Ó a Mháthair an Aonmhic, ná diúltaigh do m’urnaithe ach éist leo go trócaireach agus freagair iad. Ámén. (Suitable around the May Altar)

Introducing the New Missal

From the 1st Sunday of Advent, November 27th 2011, there will be a New Missal for use at Mass throughout the English speaking world. It contains some changes to the people’s parts of the Mass.

Is the Mass changing?

The structure of the Mass is not changing. The order and the actions of the Mass remain unchanged. The readings at Mass are not changed. However, with the introduction of the new edition of the Roman Missal throughout the English speaking world, we will all notice a change in how the Mass sounds. The translations of a number of our prayer texts from the original Latin have changed – sometimes by a particular word or in the word order. Prayers that we have become used to reciting by memory now have to be relearned. Prayers that we are used to hearing the priest say will sound different to us.

The style of language we will hear and pray may seem more formal to us and perhaps, in parts, more complex. But over time, with the praying of these texts, the sound of the Mass will again become familiar to us.

Beannú i Mara Beo

The Launching and Blessing of the New Polar Penguins and Tom Crean Exhibition took place in Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium on Thursday last.

King David prayed in his psalm “let everything that lives and that breaths gives praise to the Lord” Allelulia.

Spiorad Dé sna spéartha.

Spiorad Dé sna farraigí.

Spiorad Dé ar na sléibhte.

Spiorad De Ionainn.

Spiorad De i solas na gréine.

Spiorad Dé san aer.

Spiorad Dé thart timpeall orainn.

Spiorad Dé anseo sa Mara Beo agus i ngach áit.

A Spioraid Naoimh, Spiorad Dé, cabhraigh linn. Áiméan.

Let us pray,

Eternal Father, at the very dawn of human history you have given, through Noah, your protecting covenant to all animals as well as to us. We intercede, therefore, for all these creatures and their welfare.

Eternal God, in your love you create all things,

and within your great purpose

provide every kind of animal.

Give to all your people an attitude of care and consideration for all the penguins and marine life in Mara Beo so that we may honour you our Creator. In ainm an Athar, agus an Mhic agus Spiorad Naomh. Áiméan.
