Séasúr Paralympics, Marathon agus Craobh na hÉireann
Guímis: Lord God,
We thank you for continuing health of mind and body. We thank you also for good sporting competition and for success and failure when they come our way. Help us to compete to the fullness of our abilities but not to make winning at all costs the pinnacle of our ambition. If we achieve success may we accept it with gratitude. Comfort us with the realisation that it is often on the anvil of failure that true character is moulded and shaped. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. AMEN
Fáilte Uí Cheallaigh to all here for the Dingle Marathon. Comhghairdeas le Sóisearaigh na Ríochta a bheir an craobh agus go n-éirí go geal le Mionúirí Chiarraí, go háirithe Cathal Ó Lúing, Gavan Ó Curráin, Eanna Ó Conchúir agus Pádraig Ó Conchúir comh maith le peileadóirí agus iománaitheoirí na Ríochta idir fir is mná i rith deireadh na seachtaine.
Ciarraí Abú!
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (The RCIA)
After the summer break we will shortly be resuming our meetings for those who would like to know more about the Catholic faith. From the beginning of the year until the summer break we have been meeting regularly at An Díseart with one of our members hoping, next Easter, to be received into full membership of the Catholic Church in the parish community of the Sacred Heart, Annascaul.
The meetings will be on Monday evenings from October 1st, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm consisting of a presentation on the topic of the evening given by a member of the RCIA team, which will be followed by time for discussion and sharing; then there will be a brief period of prayer or quiet reflection on a passage of Sacred Scripture. The meetings will finish with light refreshments and time for a chat.
If you are interested, or if you know somebody who may be interested in joining the group please get in touch with the Parish Priest in your local parish who will put you in touch with a member of the RCIA team. (Fr. Jim Sheehy on behalf of the Chorca Dhuibhne RCIA team).
