An Easter Prayer

God, give us eyes to see
the beauty of the Spring,
and to behold your majesty
in every living thing –
and may we see in lacy leaves
and every budding flower
the hand that rules the universe
with gentleness and power –
and may this Easter grandeur
that Spring lavishly imparts
awaken faded flowers of faith
lying dormant in our hearts,
and give us ears to hear, dear God,
the Springtime song of birds
with messages more meaningful
than man’s often empty words
telling harried human beings
who are lost in dark despair –
‘Be like us and do not worry
For God has you in his care.’

Change of Mass Time – Lios Póil
Mass next weekend will be on Saturday April 7th at 8pm. No Sunday morning mass in Lios Póil due to Stages of the Rally of Kerry.

Smaoineamh

We can’t appreciate the greatness of Jesus’ resurrection unless we acknowledge the full reality of his death. Jesus died in darkness. But he trusted enough in God to face the darkness, and to wait for the resurrection. His leap of faith was not in vain. God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus too had to make that leap of faith which we will one day be called upon to make. He has won his victory – he conquered death. But that victory has to work its way through and become a reality in us, his disciples. The surprise and gift of Easter is that the resurrection is for us.
