Laochra an Chreidimh II – Patrons
Naomh Clár:Bhí Naomh Clár saolaithe in Assisi ar an 16ú Iúil 1194. Ba í Clár an iníon ba shine ag Favorinogciffi. Bhí athair Chláir ana shaibhir agus bhí teach ana mhór aige – pálás ab ea é. Thaitin paidreoireacht go mór le Clár agus i ag fás suas.
Nuair a bhí sí ocht mbliana déag d-aois, chuala Clár Naomh Francis Assisi ag tabhairt óráid mar gheall ar Íosa taobh amuigh den séipéal sa bhaile sin. Chuaigh sé go mór a bhfeidhim ar Chlár nuair a chuala sí Naomh Prionsias ag caint. Dúirt sí gur theastaigh cabhair Naomh Prionsias uaithi chun an soiscéal a mhaireachtachtáil agus a thabhairt chun beatha ina saol.
Ar Domhnach na Pailme – an 20ú Márta 1212 d’fhág Clár a tigh lena h-aintín Bianca agus chuadar chun bualadh le Francis Assisi. Is ansan a bearradh gruaig Chlár agus chuaigh sí isteach le ord mná rialta. Ina dhiaidh sin bhunaigh Clár a h-ord féin mná rialta ar dtugtar na Poor Clares. Cailleadh Naomh Clár ar an 11ú Lúnasa 1253. (Aisling: Bunscoil Cheann Trá)

Paidir Naomh Clár
God have mercy, you inspired Saint Claire
with the love of poverty.
By the help of our prayers may we follow Christ,
In poverty of spirit
And come to the joyful vision
Of your glory in the Kingdom of Heaven.
We ask this through
Our Lord Jesus Christ, your son
Who lives and reigns with you
And the Holy Spirit
One God, forever and ever. Amen.

The Dingle Races
There is a little town in Kerry and it is pretty far away
But the crowds are sure to be there on Dingle Derby Day.

The Kerry folk are magic they’re really on their own
The Derby’s run in Dingle the National in Listowel.

Some people who go racing you see them everywhere
There always in the Cotswolds at Beechers and the Chair.

They’re sure to be in Kerry, Killarney and Tralee
And then they’re back in Dingle just after Ballabuidhe.

Now the Ponies going to Dingle are the fastest of them all
They come from every county Cork to Donegal.

Now just to be in Dingle on a nice fine Autumn day
With all the ponies racing and the dolphin in the Bay.

There’s nowhere else I’d rather be that’s all I have to say
So just goodbye to Dingle until another day.

Examination Results
Best wishes to all those who will be receiving their Leaving Certificate examination results during the week. We pray that our young people will have the help and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as they choose their path for the future. May they always know the presence of God in their lives and respond generously to His call to use their gifts and talents wisely.
Tar, a Spioraid Naoimh.
Líon anama na bhfíréan
agus las tine do ghrá iontu.
Seol uait do Spiorad agus cruthófar iad
agus athnuachfaidh tú an domhan go léir.
Tusa a theagasc croíthe na bhfíréan
trí sholas an Spioraid Naoimh.
Deonaigh, trí dheontas an Spioraid chéanna
go mbeidh muid i gcónaí fíor-chríonna
agus go siorraí gliondrach ina shonas.
Trí Chríost Ár dTiarna. Amén.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15th – Holyday of Obligation
The Assumption of Mary honours the fullness of blessedness that was her destiny, the glorification of her immaculate soul and virginal body that completely conformed her to the risen Christ. This is a celebration that offers to the Church and to all humanity an exemplar and a consoling message, teaching us the fulfilment of our highest hopes. (Liturgical Calendar 2014)
In the mystery of her Assumption, Mary experiences immediately what we all will experience eventually – a bodily resurrection like Christ’s own. ‘The Immaculate Virgin … when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of death’ (CCC, no. 996, citing LG, no. 59). ( Irish Catholic Catechism for Adults)
A Mhuire na ngrás, a Mháthair Mhic Dé
Go gcuire tú ar mo leas mé.
Go sábhála tú mé ar gach uile olc;
Go sábhála tú mé idir anam is chorp.
Go sábhála tú mé ar muir is ar tír.
Go sábhála tú me ar lic na bpian.
Garda na n-aingeal os mo chionn
Dia romham, agus Dia liom.
