Dingle Parish Retreat in Ardfert
The annual Dingle Parish Retreat will be held in the Ardfert Retreat Centre on Sunday 23rd of February from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. In order to hire a bus (as in previous years) we need to have the names of all who would like to travel on the day, before Thursday next February 2oth. Coiste Cuimhneacháin 7 Comórtas Páidí Uí Shé
A committee has recently been formed to perpetuate the memory of the late Páidí Ó Sé; footballer supreme, and a man who achieved extraordinary things for his county, his parish and the country at large in a comparatively short life. Páidí will be remembered by the creation of a life size bronze monument which will be erected outside his home in Ard a’ Bhóthair to be unveiled on 16th May, 2015, on what would have been Páidí’s 60th birthday.

Bhí sé chomh dílis do Dhia gur tugadh an teideal “An Doctúir Ainglí” air. Chaith sé roinnt blianta ag staidéar i Cologne faoi Naomh Albert.
Tugadh an leasainm “an Damh Balbh” dó toisc gur duine ciúin machnamhach ab ea é. Ag aois a 32 agus é ina shagart fuair sé dochtúireacht sa dhiagacht. D’ofráil an Pápa Clement IV an tArdeaspacht dó ach níor ghlac sé leis mar níor theastaigh an iomad aitheantais uaidh. Scríobh sé ana chuid leabhair dhíaga agus é an “Summa Theologica” a príomhshaothar. Ta ana-mheas ag an Eaglais Caitliceach air mar eiseamláir mhúinteora go háirithe ó thaobh oideachas sagart do.
Fuair Naomh Tomás Aquinas bás i Fossa Nuova i 1274. Fógraíodh mar naomh é i 1323 agus mar dhochtúir na hEaglaise chomh mhaith. Tá lá fhéile Naomh Tomás Aquinas ar an 28ú Eanáir. Tá sé mar Naomh phátrún d’ollscoileanna agus do mhic léinn. Roghnaigh mé an naomh seo mar b’é Tomás ainm mo sheanathair a fuair bás ceithre bhliain ó shin.

Storm Damage – St. Mary’s Church
We wish to advise parishioners that as a result of the storm damage to some of the glass panels in the roof of St. Mary’s Church, there may be a drop down on to some of the seats on either side of the middle aisle.
Please avoid these seats until the roof has been repaired.

Safeguarding Children
A Safeguarding Childrens’ meeting will be held in the Pobal Scoil Chorca Dhuibne on Tuesday night February 25th 8pm – 10pm. This will involve a power point parish information presentation for the Parishes in the Dingle Pastoral Area – Dingle, Annascaul, Castlegregory and Baile an Fheirtéaraigh.
The following are asked to be present:
1. All Clergy in active ministry.
2. Parish Safeguarding representatives.
3. All Sacristans from the 3 Parish Churches.
4. 2 leaders representing Altar Servers; Junior Choirs; Junior Readers; Liturgy Groups or any other Church group which has under 18 members.
5. All personnel who supervise children in Church.
6. Adults who are members of mixed choirs i.e choirs with adults and children.
7. Eucharistic Ministers who visit people living alone.
