Machnamh / Reflection

Beginning of a New Year
Sacred Mystery,
Waiting on the threshold of this new year
You open the gates and beckon to me
“Come! Come!”
Be not wary of what awaits you
As you enter the unknown,
Be not doubtful of your ability
To grow in its joy and sorrows.
For I am with you.
I will be your guide.
I will be your Protector.
You will never be alone.
I welcome your unfailing presence
And walk with hope into this New Year.

Smaoineamh

The start of the New Year is always greeted with enthusiasm. There is a sense of beginning a new journey, leaving old and worn roads behind us, making positive changes in our lives and looking forward in hope.
We won’t be able to change the world, we won’t be able to do a complete changeover, but we can be open to trying some small positive changes in our lives. Every day presents new opportunities but especially the start of a new year. We welcome these opportunities and for us to know that God is gently journeying with us in all our hopes, dreams and plans for this New Year.
Pray for Eileen Totham, Mám an Óraigh and London; Peig Uí Chúinn, An Chorrghráig. Suaimhneas síoraí dá n-anamacha.
