Machnamh / Reflection
For the gift of our hands
and the power of their touch,
We bless You God, our Creator.
For the wonderful example of Your healing touch,
We bless You Jesus, our Redeemer.
For the grace that leads us to reach out
and transform the world through our being,
we bless You, life-giving Spirit.
We pray, in the name of the beloved Trinity,
that all the work and gestures of our hands will
contribute to the building of Your kingdom
among us.
Smaoineamh
Yes, it’s possible to get disconnected from God, and to forget who we are. It grieves the heart of God when his children become estranged from him and from one another. But Christmas is a big help here. Christmas gives us an opportunity to reconnect ourselves with God if we feel we have become disconnected from him. At Christmas we experience the closeness of God. God is not some remote and uncaring figure. God is our heavenly Father, who is close to us, and to whom we are important and precious. Christmas reminds us of who we are, and what our destiny is.
