Agriculture Show/Taispeánas Talamhaíochta
Gach rath ar Taispeántas 2015 sa Mart. Fáilte Uí Cheallaigh roimh cách and especially to all our visitors who can enjoy another wonderful display of “the fruits of the earth and the work of human hands.” Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si” letter concludes:
“God of love, show us our place in this world as channels of your love for all the creatures of this earth, for not one of them is forgotten in your sight. Enlighten those who possess power and money that they may avoid the sin of indifference, that they may love the common good, advance the weak, and care for this world in which we live. The poor and the earth are crying out. O Lord, seize us with your power and light, help us to protect all life, to prepare for a better future, for the coming of your Kingdom of justice, peace, love and beauty. Praise be to you! Amen.”

Laochra an Chreidimh II – Patrons
Naomh Aibhistín. Rugadh Naomh Aibhistín nó Augústine in Annaba san Algéir I dtuaisceart na hAfrice i mí na Samhain sa bhliain 354.
Ag an am sin bhí an Aifric faoi smacht na Róimhe. Críostaí a mháthair agus págánach a athair. Nuair a d’fhás Aibhistín suas d’imigh sé le h’aer an tsaoil agus níor thug sé aird ar Dhia. Ach lá amháin chuala sé glaoch ó Dhia ag rá leis an Bíobla a oscailt agus a léamh. As sin amach níor fhéach Aibhistín siar ach chaith sé a shaol mar a dúirt an Bíobla leis. Baisteadh Naomh Aibhistín isteach san eaglais caitiliceach sa bhliain 386 i Milan san Iodáil.
Ansin cheapadh é mar Easpag de Annaba a réigiún fhéin san Algéir sa bhliain 391 tar éis dó tréanáil le bheith ina shagart. Scriobhnóir cáiliúil ab ea é sa eaglais caitiliceach ag an am agus is é an naomh patrún dos na gháth sagairt é, do dhaoine le súile tinn agus ar Stát Connecticut ‘sna Stáit Áontaithe.
D’éag sé san 28ú lád de mí Lúnasa 430 ag aois 75 agus is é sin a lá féasta. Cheapadh é mar dhochtúr na heaglaise caitiliceach sa bhliain 1298 ag an bPápa Boniface VIII. Tá a uaimh san eaglais i bPavia san Iodáil.
Paidir Naomh Aibhistín
A Spioraid Naomh, cabhraigh liom go mbeidh mo smaointe Naofa
agus mo obair leis a Spioraid Naomh, a bheith Naofa.
Tabhair neart agus cumhacht dom an Críostaíocht a chosaint, agus cabhair liom gach uile lá, a Spioraid Naofa.
