Machnamh
May the night come calmly
Guiding us to a safe harbour
Where every lighthouse reaches the hidden depths of Your presence
Lighting the darkness of distant lives.
Lord take Your Self
All who lie in the sleep of the sea
All souls lost in service
May love still shed a tear.
And when the sun is setting in gold across the bay
In you we find our anchor, in You we rest and pray.
Come walk across the water
Come lead us through the dark
O fisherman of Galilee
Come be our morning star.

Smaoineamh

We are either optimistic or pessimistic or somewhere in between. The constant message from our Gospels is that there is always a bigger picture. If we take one event in isolation it can give a distorted view. It is easy then to ask ‘why’. But if we take the bigger picture, if we see life from experience, from a faith point of view, from the foundation of good sound values, then life can be viewed with some optimism. When others say ‘why’, we are in a better position to try and live the ‘why’.

Pray for Michael Griffin, Kilfountain, Dingle. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam.
