Smaoineamh
We need ordinary bread. That is our first and most basic necessity. But we need more than that. Bread nourishes only half of us – the physical side. But we have a spiritual side. It too cries out for nourishment. In the Eucharist we are nourished with the food of God’s word, a word which comforts, guides, inspires and challenges us. And in Holy Communion we are nourished witht the food of eternal life. In the Eucharistic banquet we have nourishment for our minds, hearts and spirits. Here we experience the abiding presence of Christ with us.

Pray for: Kate Ashe, (Nee Kennedy) Lower Main St. and Dykegate St.; Den Ó Sé, Springfield, Massachussetts agus Cilliruith; Domhnall Mac an tSíthigh, Baile Eaglaise. Suaimhneas síoraí dá n-anamacha.

White Fathers’ African Missionary Appeal
Fr. John O’Donoghue will speak at all Masses next weekend, June 24th/25th on the work of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) and a second collection will take place after Communion for the White Fathers. Your support would be greatly appreciated. The White Fathers were founded in 1868 in Algeria and today they are present in 24 Africa and Middle-Eastern countries. Today there are 500 young men in seminaries, mainly in Africa, preparing to become Missionaries of Africa. It is the task of us, their ‘elder brothers’, to work alongside them, helping them to be apostles in the Africa of the future. “We come to your parish seeking your help that we may continue to pursue this goal.”
