Father, I have knowledge, so will you show me now,
how to use it wisely and find a way somehow to make
the world I live in a little better place,
and make life with its problems a little bit easier to face.
Grant me faith and courage and put purpose in my ways.
So my education, my knowledge and my skill may
find their true fulfilment as I learn to do Thy will.
And may I ever be aware in everything I do,
that knowledge comes from learning,
and wisdom comes from you, Amen.

Guímid gach ádh ar scoláirí
an Teastas Shóisearaigh agus na hArdteiste.
Pastoral Ministry Course – Have you registered?
Closing date for Pastoral Minister Registration is Friday June 16th. The proposed venue for the course is Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne beginning on Saturday September 9th.
The course aims (a) to nurture the spiritual and personal growth of participants; (b) develop confidence and skills in witnessing our Baptismal vocation. Some of the topics covered include: (1) Mission of Jesus Christ and mission of the Church; (2) Call of Baptism; (3) Role and Function of Parish Groups; (4) Scripture; (5) Prayer and Spirituality; (6) Sacraments; (7) Liturgy; (8) Social Justice.
This course is held over 8 Saturdays, once a month, 4 Saturdays before Christmas i.e September to December and 4 after Christmas. It has proved to be very successful in several Pastoral Areas throughout the Kerry Diocese. Thanks to all who have already registered. Forms are available from the Presbytery.

Smaoineamh

After Pentecost the apostles were changed people. It is mistake to think that the change came about in an instant. It had to be a gradual thing, a process. It was a growth process, set in motion by the action of the Holy Spirit. And growth happens gradually. Though we are dealing with mystery, that doesn’t mean we can’t understand anything about it. The Spirit awakens us to the mysterious power within us, bids us live, and helps us grow.
