Paidreacha roimh na Scrúduithe
Lord,
I ask You to help me at this stressful time. I feel that so much depends on these exams. I feel that in addition to carrying my own burdens, I am carrying the expectations of so many others – family, friends, society.
Help me to keep calm at this time, so that I can think straight and apply myself to the best of my ability. Let Your Spirit help and inspire me, so that I can remember all that I have studied and put together my answers in the best way. Guide me in all my ways, so that I will find fulfilment in You. Amen.

Ár gCóineartú
Our Patron Saints / Laochra an Chreidimh No. 99. St. Rosalia was led to a cave by two angels on Mount Pellegrino. She wrote on the wall “I Rosalia, daughter of Sinibald, Lord of Roses, and Quisquina, have taken the resolution to live in this cave for the love of my Lord, Jesus Christ. “She then died in that cave in 1166. In 1624 a horrible plague haunted Palermo and during this hardship St. Rosalia appeared first to a sick woman, then to a hunter to whom she indicated where her remains were to be found. She ordered him to bring her bones to Palermo and have them carried in procession through the city. After the procession the plague ceased. She was then honoured to be the patron saint of Palermo and a sanctuary was built in the cave where her remains were discovered.

Paidir Iubhaile Eaglais Mhuire
A Dhia na dílseachta,
glac uainn ár mbuíochas
as ucht an Fhiorgnimh Dhiaga seo,
siombail d’ár naontas leat,
eadrainn féin, agus le nár bpobal áitiúil.
Gabhaimíd buíochas leo siúd
a bhí fadradharcach is a fhulaing
iobairt phearsanta in a thógáil.
Glaonn tú orainn aontú le chéile
laistigh dá fhallaí chun bheith in
ár gclann fháilteach, ghrámhar.
Téann an glaoch amach ón eaglais seo
go dteimis go dtí ár gceanntracha stáisiún;
ár nDeoise agus an Domhan
len a mbainimíd go mbeimis mar ghéaga agat
chun do Ríocht ar thalamh a shlánú.
Deonaigh, mar thoradh ar do bhriathra,
go ndéanfar pobal fíor eucairisteach dinn.
Go dtéimíd amach go fonnmhar
chun ceart is cóir a dháileadh.
Bímis in ár maoir ar a bhfuil cruthaithe agat,
ag cosaint ceiliúradh na beatha
i rith na bliana Iubhaile seo,
Dein grá Chriost, do mhac,
a mhúscailt ionainn maille
le lasar ón Spiorad Naomh.
Líon ár mbeatha le misneach chun onóir
a thabhairt do chreideamh ár sínsear;
Go neartófar an creideamh sin ionainn
agus go n-ullamhóimis don todhchaí.
Iarraimíd é seo tré eadarghuí do mhic,
Íosa Críost, ár dTiarna. Amen.
