Machnamh

Holy Spirit,
Let my heart be open to you.
Help me to see Jesus in myself
and in everyone I meet.
Be with me each day for the rest of my life, in my thoughts, in my words and in my actions.
Help me to carry out the work for which
I was created and called.
Fill me with your special peace
that I may walk close to Jesus,
now and forever

Smaoineamh
The Spirit that we have been given is not a spirit of timidity, but the Spirit of power. Wind and fire are symbols of power. Wind has the power to move, to uproot. Fire has the power to refine and transform. The power they symbolise here is the power of God. The coming of the Spirit provided the apostles with the energy, the courage, and the love to get on with the task Christ had given them.
We too need the Holy Spirit. We need him to help us to realise the power and the gifts we have within us. We need him to harness that power and release those gifts so that we too can become fearless witnesses for Christ.
Pray for Bridget Uí Chiobhán, (Nee Harte), Cillirith agus Charlestown, Co. Maigheo; Eibhlín Uí Dhubháin (Ní Mhuircheartaigh), Baile Átha Cliath agus Dún Síon. Suaimhneas síoraí dá n-anamacha.
