Thought for the day: There is a move afoot to replace church teaching on the just war with a more proactive doctrine of just peace. As Paul VI observed long ago, peace is much more than the absence of war. In a world riven by conflict, peace is a matter of discipleship and, at the personal level, a matter of deliberate choice even in the everyday conflicts of our ordinary lives. The prayer for peace goes well beyond praying for individualistic freedom from stress. Prayer: O God, though the human race is divided by dissension and discord, yet we know that by testing us you change our hearts to prepare them for reconciliation. Even more, by your Spirit you move human hearts that enemies may speak to each other again, adversaries may join hands, and peoples seek to meet together. Amen.
Míle buíochas to all who have returned the Spring and Easter Dues Envelopes and Trócaire Boxes. If you have not yet returned them, you can do so by placing them in the offertory collection or in the building fund boxes at the back of the churches. We would greatly appreciate if they could be returned in the next few weeks. NB: If paying by cheque please make it payable to Teach na Sagart for the Dues and Dingle Parish for Trócaire. Trócaire received to date €7,162.00. Míle buíochas.
Gluten Free hosts are available from the priest at communion time.

Pope’s Intention for May: For Working Conditions: Let us Pray that through work, each person might find fulfilment, families might be sustained in dignity, and that society might be humanised.
Pope Leo XIV on X: If we Christians and members of other religious traditions stand together, free from ideological and political conditioning, we can be effective in saying “no” to war and “yes” to peace, “no” to an economy that impoverishes people and the Earth and “yes” to integral development.
