Praying Sunday Mass online
As we gather at home for our Sunday Mass celebrations online, some suggestions:
Create a sacred space where you will sit to attend Mass e.g. using a crucifix or candle or icon, just like you might do if preparing for a house Mass. Invite family members to name a prayer intention. Stand to hear the Gospel or to join in praying the Our Father, just like you would in church. We are reminded of the words of Jesus – ‘Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in their midst’ – We remember that Jesus Christ is present in our homes as we pray at Mass together.
Priest on duty this Sunday:
Fr Eoghan Ó Cadhla: 066-9156131.

A Coronavirus Prayer
Loving and healing God,
we turn to you in prayer, confident that you are with us and with all people in every moment.

We stand before you as people of hope, trusting in your care and protection.
May your faithful love support us and soothe the anxiety of our hearts.

Generous God,
fill us with compassion and concern for others, young and old,
that we may look after one another in these challenging days.

Bring healing to those who are sick with the virus and be with their families. May those who have died rest in your eternal embrace.
Comfort their family and friends.

Strengthen and protect all medical professionals caring for the sick and all who work in our medical facilities. Give wisdom to leaders in healthcare and governance
that they may make the right decisions for the well-being of people.

We pray in gratitude for all those in our country who will continue to work in the days ahead in so many fields of life for the sake of us all.
Bless them and keep them safe.

O God of creation and life,
we place ourselves in your protection.
May the mantle of your peace enfold us this day and tomorrow.

St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.
St ……., pray for us.

May all the saints of God, pray for us. Amen.

Offertory Collection: €686. Míle buíochas

Covid-19 – Level 5
Implications for Parishes
The impact on Parish activity and religious services is as follows:-

  1. No Public Masses, masses on line only.
  2. Churches remain open for private prayer.
  3. A maximum of 25 may attend a funeral.
  4. Weddings may take place but no more
    than 25 people may attend.
  5. Baptisms are not permitted.
Parish Offices will remain open but subject to strict compliance with all social distancing and hand sanitisation requirements. Face coverings must be worn by anyone visiting the Parish Office.

Thought for the day: What does God desire of us? This simple question is perhaps not asked frequently enough! It can be made quite personal: what does God want of me, from me? In the end, the answer has to be – in the words of the song – “all that I am,” precisely because God loves all that I am. This will mean allowing ourselves to be loved. It will also mean responding with my whole self, including all the gifts of body, mind and soul that God has bestowed upon me. In the end, God does hope that we may be and become our true selves. Nothing less is adequate to God’s own love for us.
Prayer: We are truly grateful to you, God our creator and redeemer, for your many gifts. We ask your help that we may use all you have given us for your glory and for the good of our neighbour. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Fr Kieran O’Mahony)
