Courtyard of St. Mary’s Church
In response to concerns expressed by parishioners re Health and Safety matters relating to the Courtyard’s surface area the necessary reparation work will commence on Monday December 1st now that the main tourist season is coming to a close. Under the direction of Kerry Diocesan Property Committee local firm Ó Muircheartaigh 7 Ó Bambaire Teo., Innealtóirí Sibhialta 7 Comhlairleoirí Pleanála have been appointed to survey, plan and oversee the project.
A salient section of their study reports “that all new works carried out after 2011 have to comply with Technical Guidance Document Part M (Access and Use) of the building regulations”. Consequently, “there is only one number parking space in the entire concrete area – under the 2010 regulations – taking into account pedestrian access to the Church, An Díseart and Gáirdín Mhuire, it was not practicable to have any more parking spaces.” Heretofore, therefore, that one space is to be reserved for an emergency vehicle only and in the event of a Parish funeral, the hearse.
During the work, access to St. Mary’s Church will be by the main door and access to An Díseart via the Presbytery grounds. Parishioners and visitors can as ever avail of the parking facilities of Cárchlós an Pharóiste, our Parish carpark, Green Street (2nd entrance below St. Mary’s) and Teach na Sagart. We regret any inconvenience during the course of these works imposed by Health and Safety regulations and sincerely thank your all for your co-operation and understanding.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
O come, O come Emmanuel,
and free your captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.

Chorus:
Rejoice, rejoice O Israel
to you shall come Emmanuel.

O royal branch of Jesse’ tree,
redeem us all from tyranny
From pain of hell your people free,
and over death win victory.

O come, great daystar, radiance bright,
And heal us with your glorious light.
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
The Advent Wreath
Placing four candles on green fronds has become a symbol of Advent in may Christian homes, especially in Germanic countries and in North America.
The Advent wreath, with the progressive lighting of its four candles, Sunday after Sunday, until the Solemnity of Christmas, is a recollection of the various stages of salvation history prior to Christ’s coming and a symbol of the prophetic light gradually illuminating the long night prior to the rising of the Sun of justice.
Beannú Fleasc Aidbhinte
Beannaímid fleasc an tséasúir beannaithe seo, ciorcal gan briseadh de láithreacht Dé. Is geall le lámh é sínte amach go fáilteach chúinne agus chun an chine daonna. Solas é don saol go léir. Go labhra an fhleasc seo linn i gcónaí faoi Dhia atá farainn gach lá. Go n-osclaímid doirse ár gcroí do Dhia gach lá dar shaol. Go mbeannaí Dia uilechumhachtach sinn go léir, anois agus i gcaitheamh na hAidbhinte.
Ár gCóineartú / Confirmation 2014-2015
Pupils of our 6 Primary Schools will dress the Jesse Trees in our three Parish Churches at Mass this weekend. Explanations will be given for each part.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Israel! To you shall come Emmanuel.
Ardaigh do chroí, a Iosráél, Chugat thiocfaidh Emanúél.
