Eucharistic Adorers – There will be a meeting for Eucharistic Adorers on Thursday October 29th at 7.30pm in the presbytery. All are welcome to attend.
November Pledge: November is traditionally dedicated as the Month of the Holy Souls when we pray in a special way for family members / relatives / friends who are no longer with us. By a long-standing Irish custom, many people choose to abstain from alcohol for the month of November and offer this sacrificial act for the benefit of their deceased loved ones, for all the Souls in Purgatory as well as someone they know and/or love with an addiction.
The Latin Mass (1962 Missal) will be offered in Holy Cross Dominican Church, Tralee on Sunday 25th October, and Sunday 1st November, at 1.30pm. More info from: LatinMassTralee@Gmail.com.
Understanding migration – exploring our responsibility
A workshop exploring the issue of migration will be held in St. John’s Parish Centre, Tralee on Wednesday, October 28th from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. Sr. Joan Roddy, Outreach Worker with the Jesuit Refugee Service, will address the workshop, organised by the Diocese of Kerry Committee
for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation(JPIC). All are welcome to attend and there is no admission charge.
Internet Training for Farmers: North, East and West Kerry Development in conjunction with Kerry Education & Training Board & TEAGASC are running 8 week courses starting during October (2 hours per week) in: Dingle.

Holy Souls – November Masses will be celebrated in our 3 Parish churches, in West Kerry Community Hospital, Coláiste Íde and Cnoc a’ Chairn remembering all those named by you in our Parish November Lists.
You will find the purple coloured list in the envelope delivered to your homes recently. Masses will be celebrated for those on the lists, every week during November in the 3 Parish Churches:

Commemoration of All Souls
Norms for Indulgences
1. From 12 noon on Nov 1st to midnight on Nov 2nd, all who have confessed, received Holy Communion, and prayed for the Pope’s intentions (one Our Father and Hail Mary, or any other prayer of one’s choice) can gain one plenary indulgence by visiting a church or oratory, and there reciting one Our Father and the Apostles’ Creed. This indulgence is applicable only to the souls of the departed. Confession may be made any time within the week preceding or the week following 1st Nov. Holy Communion may be received on any day Nov. 1st to 8th.
2. The faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may gain a plenary indulgence applicable only to the Holy Souls on the usual conditions once per day November 1st to 8th.
What are Indulgences?
Indulgences are the remission of temporal punishment due to sin, granted to the faithful who recite specified prayers, visit a specified place of pilgrimage or engage in a specified act of charity; punishment is remitted through the power of the Church and in the mutual exchange of spiritual goods, particularly the merits of Christ and the saints. (Irish Catholic Catechism for Adults)

Special Wedding Anniversaries will be celebrated during the Vigil Mass of December 5th next at 8pm in St. Mary’s Church, Dingle. Details to follow later.
Laudato Si – An Díseart Talks
Fr. Jim Sheehy series of talks on Pope Frances’ recent Encyclical “Laudato Si: On care for Our Common Home,” will resume on November 5th.
World Youth Day
World Youth Day (WYD) is an International Festival which gathers young people from all over the world. This year WYD will be held in Krakow, Poland from Tuesday, July 26th until Sunday, July 31st. The Diocese of Kerry are planning to bring a group of young adults (18 – 35) to participate in this exciting event. The WYD programme includes several day of celebration with Pope Francis. There will be liturgies, catechetical sessions, concerts, performances and encounters with renowned communities and religious movements from around the world. The week culminates in an all-night vigil and Papal Mass over the closing weekend.
The cost is €1,200 per person of which the parish will contribute a portion. If you are interested in taking part, please contact the parish office on 066-9151208. Leaflets are available at the back of the Churches.

Towards Peace
Towards Peace is a new spiritual support service designed for those who have experienced sexual, physical, emotional or spiritual abuse by Catholic Church personnel in Ireland. Support is also available for family members of abuse survivors. The vision of Towards Peace is to provide a safe supportive space, where people who have been affected by abuse in a Church context can be accompanied as they seek their own experience of spiritual peace, one step at a time. Towards Peace provides spiritual support through one-to-one spiritual direction sessions, with a qualified spiritual companion. Up to nine sessions are offered and there is no cost.
