Thought for the day: Happiness in believing is possibly out of fashion and even out of sync with the times. And yet, engagement with the Good News should surely lead to a profound happiness, even exuberance. Just because we don’t feel it all the time doesn’t mean it isn’t real! The joy of the Gospel is part of who we are. Prayer: As we place our trust in you, as we are loved by you and love you in return, unlock our hearts that we may know true and lasting joy in believing.

Season of Creation 2022 continues until Oct 4th, Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Water: In 1980, 500 rivers in Ireland were in ‘pristine’ condition. Today it has fallen to 20! As sea levels rise in the coming years it will erode the soft Irish coastline and result in increased inundation in our many coastal cities and towns. In poorer countries, women and children are disproportionately impacted by poor access to clean water as it is women and girls who spend most of their days collecting water, this in turn directly impacts their education. For information on how to conserve water visit www.water.ie.

A Webinar ‘Listen to the Voice of the Earth’ will be held on Thursday, 22nd September, at 7.30pm. This webinar will examine the gifts of and problems facing soil and water and what we as a community can do to protect these essential natural resources. Speakers: Thomas O’Connor, Organic Farmer, Talamh Beo and Catherine Seale Duggan, Local Authority Waters Programme. Register for this free webinar on www.dioceseofkerry.ie.

Urnaí ar son an Domhain: A Dhia uilechumhachtach, tá an domhan uile lán de do bheatha, fiú sa neach is lú ar chruthaigh tú. Doirt anuas orainn fuinneamh do ghrá, ionas gur féidir linn an bheatha is an grá a chaomhnú. Cneasaigh an sprid ionainn, ionas go mbeimid mar lucht cosanta an domhain, seachas lucht creiche. Deonaigh go gcuirfimid an áilleacht i bhfeidhm ar an saol, seachas an truailliú is an lot. Amen (Laudauto Si’, 246).
