Thought for the day: The banking crisis is only one example of a wider “honesty deficit” in public life. Even people working for charities are sometimes found, unfortunately, to be lacking in integrity. As a result, the story of dishonest management will not lack contemporary echoes. It also means that the shock of story—the manager continues to fix the books for his own benefit—is just as much a shock today as it would have been in first-century Palestine. If that were not enough, the ironic teaching drawn in v. 9 borders on the sarcastic, not to say caustic. No missing the meaning, in any case! But what is the meaning? It can’t be simply copy that distressing example of the manager. To act, not to delay, seems to be at the centre. Prayer: I truly believe and I know, God of our hearts, that you love and desire all that I am. May your great love penetrate even the darkest parts of my life that I may know true conversion of heart and love you with my whole self.Amen.
(Fr Kieran O’Mahony)
Pope Leo XIV on ‘X’: The true consolation we must offer to those around us is showing that peace is possible, and that it grows within each of us, if we do not stifle it. May the leaders of nations pay particular attention to the cries of so many innocent children and ensure them a future that protects and consoles them.
Priest on duty this Sunday:
Fr Eamon Mulvhill 066-7139145.
Dues Envelopes: The Autumn Dues and November Offering Envelopes 2025 are being distributed to households in the coming week. Fr Michael would like to thank you for your support and generosity. Donations from these two envelopes support your priest’s income. We appreciate you returning these envelopes at your earliest convenience. They can be placed in the Building Fund boxes at the back of the 3 Parish Churches or placed in the offertory baskets. If paying by cheque, please make it payable to Tigh an tSagairt. If you haven’t received your envelopes yet, you might contact the person that normally delivers them. Spare envelopes are available at the back of the parish churches. Buíochas ó chroí for your continued support.
If anyone would like to be included in our envelope scheme for 2026, please contact the Parish Office on 066-9151208 or email dingle@dioceseofkerry.ie. Anyone who contributes €250 or over enables the parish to claim back tax on it, provided the person who has given it is a taxpayer.
Gluten Free hosts are available from the priest at communion time.
Donate terminals, located at the back of St Mary’s Church, are programmed to donate €5 to the Parish each time they are used.
