Machnamh

When your heart is sad and lonely,
And your friends seem far away,
Turn to Him Who is all holy,
And He’ll drive your cares away.

He will soothe your lonely spirit,
He will love and bless and say,
“Come to Me and I will comfort
You, today and every day.”

Lady Day – Petition / Thanksgiving Box
You are invited to place your petitions / thanksgiving in a special box at the back of St. Mary’s Church. This box will be brought to the altar at the 7.30pm Mass on Friday September 8th. Fáilte roimh chách chuig an Aifreann.
Ar Lá Breithe na Maighdine Muire
A Mhuire a Mhaighdean, níor chualathas riamh
éinne a cuireadh faoi do chúram fial nach
bhfuair sólás is nach bhfuair síth.
Is tú réalt na mara,
is tú réalt na maidine
is tú réalt na hoíche,
is tú réalt na n-aingeal,
is tú bláthfhleasc na bhFlaitheas.
Dé do bheatha, a Mhuire na ngrásta,
agus dé do bheatha, a Bhanríon ghrámhar,
Is beannaithe thú thar na mnáibh
is is beannaither Íosa, do NaomhPháiste.
(Ár bPaidreacha Dúchais – Diarmuid Ó Laoighaire)

Smaoineamh

Our following of Christ can be in small steps. God is patient. His challenge is invitation. What does following Christ mean in practice? It means faithfulness to one’s way of life, concern for others in whatever manner, the caring gesture, the kind word – these add up. The Lord does not overlook the painful decision, the unspoken sorrow, the secret suffering. There can be much heroism in ordinary life.

Pray for: Theresa Kennedy, (nee Wallace), Annascaul and John Knightly, Annascaul. Suaimhneas síoraí dá n-anamacha.
