Parish Envelope Scheme and Calendar

In the next few days every household will receive, if they have not done so already, a Féilire Eaglasta 2010 and a box of envelopes for your weekly offertory contribution. Also included is an envelope for your Christmas Dues contribution or you can use the envelope provided in your 2009 Box of Envelopes. The Offertory collection funds all running costs and maintenance in our Parish, including insurance, staffing and Diocesan Levy. Tax can also be claimed back by the Parish if any PAYE taxpayer has contributed over €250. We invite every household to participate in this scheme and invite new parishioners to register by contacting the Parish Office on 9151208. A full account of both income and expenditure will be published in the New Year. We thank all our collectors, committee members, counting teams and teangmhálaithe / contact people who serve tirelessly in this essential Parish work. Spare envelopes for Christmas Dues are available at the back of the three Parish Churches.

Go méadaí Dia bhúr stór.

We read in sacred scripture:

Advent – Season of Reconciliation

A Phobail Dé, Advent is a time of preparation, when we make ready to celebrate the mystery of our Lord’s coming as man, the beginning of our redemption. Advent also moves us to look forward with renewed hope to the second coming of Christ. We are reminded too of our Lord’s coming to each one of us at the hour of our death. We must make sure that he will find us prepared for his coming, as the gospel tells us: ‘Blessed are those servants who are found awake when the Lord comes’ (Luke 12: 37). Our Parish confessions will make us ready in mind and heart for the coming of Christ, which we are soon to celebrate in the Mass of Christmas.

Go mbeidh sibh go lúcháireach ag gabháil buíochas leis an Athair a chur ar bhur gcumas a bheith páirteach in oidhreacht an phobail naofa i ríocht an eolais, agus a d’fhuascail sinn ó chumhacht an dorchadais agus a thug isteach sinn i ríocht a mhic ionúin. Is ann sin a fhaighimid ár bhfuascailt trí mhaithiúnas na bpeacaí. (Col. 1:12-14.)

My brothers and sisters, we look forward to celebrating the mystery of Christ’s coming on the feast of Christmas. Let us pray that when he comes he may find us awake and ready to receive him.

Almighty and eternal God, you sent your only-begotten Son to reconcile the world to yourself. Lift from our hearts the oppressive gloom of sin so that we may celebrate the approaching dawn of Christ’s birth with fitting joy. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN

Shoilsigh Dia ár gcroíthe go léir.

Go dtuga sé duit do chuid peacaí a aithint go fíor agus muinín a chur ina thrócaire. AMEN

“Maranatha -Tar, A Thiarna Íosa.” (Apac. 22:20)
