PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE

Dear Parishioners,

Our Parish Finance Committee would be most grateful to the households who received the Taxback forms and have not yet sent them back, if they could return them as soon as is convenient in the envelopes provided. Completing the form will cost you nothing, but will greatly benefit the parish as you saw in our published financial accounts for 2009, when we acknowledged the sum of €14,714.50 received as Tax Rebate from the Revenue. Sincerest thanks to all who have already returned you forms.

Go méadaí Dia bhur stór.

Slow Me Down, Lord

Slow me down, Lord, Slow me down!

Ease the pounding of my heart

by the quieting of my mind..

Give me amid the confusion of my day,

the calmness of the everlasting hills.

Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles

with the soothing music

of the singing streams that live in my memory.

Help me to know the magical,

restoring power of sleep.

Teach me the art of taking minute vacations,

of slowing down to look at a flower,

to chat with a friend, to pat a dog,

to read a few lines from a good book.

Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and the tortoise,

that I may know that the race is not always to the swift –

that there is more to life than increasing speed.

Let me look upward

into the branches of the flowering oak

and know that it is great and strong

because it grew slowly and well.

Slow me down, Lord,

and inspire me to send my roots

deep into the soil of life’s enduring values

that I may grow toward the stars

of my great destiny.

(Our thanks to Bishop Liam Ó Murchú and Tadgh Fleming Parish Clerk St. Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney for this reflection.)

Salm 116: Imígí Faoi an Domhain Uile

Molaigí an Tiarna, a chiníocha go léir;

moladh an uile náisiúin é.

Chorus: Imígí faoi an Domhain uile,

Fógraígí an dea-scéal

Óir is mór é go deimhin, a ghrá dúinn;

maireann a dhílseacht go brách.

(Ceol Fr. Pat Ahern of Siamsa Tíre)

A Mhuire a Mhaighdean, níor chualathas riamh éinne a cuireadh faoi do chúram fial nach bhfuair sólás is nach bhfuair síth.

Is tú réalt na mara,

Is tú réalt na maidine

Is tú réalt na hoíche

Is tú réalt na n-aingeal,

Is tú bhláthfhleasc na bhFlaitheas.

Ag dul Chun Farraige nó thar Abhainnn

Ag gabháil anonn in áit go domhain,

A Rí na foighne, glac iad ar láimh.

Ar eagla buille ne toinne tréan,

A Mhuire, féach is ná fág.

In Aghaidh Báite

Muire, Críost agus na naoimh eadrainn agus an t-olc. Muire agus a Mac,

Pádraig leis an bhachall,

Máirtín leis an bhrat.

Bríd leis an sciath agus Dia os a gcomhair uile go léir lena láimh dheas láidir.
