Through our baptism we have been called to be disciples of Jesus. This is a great honour and a great privilege. We must not forget that it is a call to service. We need the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts. We must learn from John the Baptist not to make ourselves the centre of the world. We must put our gifts at the service of others, not just of ourselves.
In our society our being chosen always implies that others are not chosen. But this is not true for God. God chooses his Son to reveal to us that we too are chosen.

Cara Project: A church gate collection will be held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January, in aid of the Transition Year Cara Project, in Kenya. CARA Projects is a volunteer organisation which supports a girl’s rescue centre based in Kenya.
This is the fourth year that a Transition Year Student volunteer has travelled to their orphanage, and the fund-raising will enable a volunteer to travel to there again, in Mid-February.
