Spirit of Light,
let the fire of your wisdom burn
brightly within us.
Spirit of Silence,
in the still moment may we be open
to God’s presence.

help us to be attentive to
God’s word in the world.

enthuse us to proclaim aloud
the Good News.
Spirit of Love,
compel us to open ourselves
to the needs of others.
Spirit of Power,
bestow the gift of your strength upon us.
Spirit of Truth,
guide us to walk in the way of Christ.

Parish Retreat
The annual Parish Retreat will be held in Ardfert on February 5th 2017. Please give names to: Nora Curran, 066-9151924; Margaret Sheehy: 066-9151819/086-2453060; Kathleen Sheehy: 066-9151201/087-6643152. Transport details later.

Through our baptism we have been called to be disciples of Jesus. This is a great honour and a great privilege. We must not forget that it is a call to service. We need the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts. We must learn from John the Baptist not to make ourselves the centre of the world. We must put our gifts at the service of others, not just of ourselves.
In our society our being chosen always implies that others are not chosen. But this is not true for God. God chooses his Son to reveal to us that we too are chosen.

Pray for Kerrie Lee Parry, Sydney. Suaimhneas síoraí dá h-anam.
