Paidir Lá don Bheatha
A Mhuire Naofa, Máthair an Ghrá,
Cabhraigh linn diúltú le gach a chuireann le
cultúr an bháis,
agus obair le daoine eile a bhfuil dea-thoil acu
chun cultúr na beatha a chur chun cinn.
Tabhair sinn níos cóngaraí le do Mhac,
i dtreo is go mbeidh aithne againn ar iomláine na beatha a ofráileann sé dúinn
agus I dtreo is go mbeidh léargas níos mó againn
ar an bheatha síoraí leatsa agus leis na haingil agus leis na naoimh go léir sna Flaithis. Áiméan.
Dingle Parish Pastoral Council meeting, Thursday October 10th at 8pm in The Presbytery.
Bliain an Chreidimh – Our Patron Saints Laochra an Chreidimh No.63.
St Dominic – Two saints of the thirteenth century created a new kind of religious order. The followers of the Italian St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226) and the Spaniard St. Dominic Guzmán (c. 1170-1221) were called mendicants, because they supported themselves by begging for alms. They owned no property, either individually or in common. They were not monks, but friars; they did not live in monasteries, but in the world. The two orders reflect the very different personalities of their founders. Dominic was an ecclesiastical statesman, who was at home in the corridors of power; Francis was not at home in this world at all. Dominic was an intellectual defender of orthodoxy; Francis had little regard for book learning, and thought with his heart.
St. Dominic founded the Order of Preachers in 1215 and is credited with inventing the original Rosary beads out of devotion to Our Lady. The Dominicans have a Priory and a Convent in Tralee.

Tobar Mhichíl
Míle buíochas do ghach duine a ghlac páirt insan Turas go Tobar Mhichíl an Domhnach seo caite. We thank newly arrived resident Michael from Australia, the U.S.A. coach party and Clive home from London who cut the grass for visiting pilgrims and our own Community’s Rounds and Rosary. Moladh go Deo le Dia.
Mission Month
October is Mission Month. At this time of year we highlight the sharing of the Good News with people as a fundamental element of our Christian call. To support the younger churches throughout the world, a collection will be taken up at all Masses on Oct 5th/6th. The entire Mission Sunday collection is made available to the Universal Solidarity Fund to be distributed to as many as 1,100 young Churches. World Missions, Ireland – the work of the Pontifical Mission Societies, is the vehicle of this communion, bringing the prayers, solidarity and financial help of the Church in Ireland to Christian communities in other parts of the world, especially those in greatest need.
“My wish for World Mission Sunday this year is that the Year of Faith may help us ‘to continue to strengthen our relationship with Christ the Lord since it is only in him that there is certainty in looking to the future and a guarantee of an authentic and lasting love’ (Porta Fidei, 15)
I affectionately bless missionaries and all those who support this essential commitment of the Church to proclaim the Gospel to all corners of the earth. May we, missionaries of the Gospel experience ‘the delightful and comforting joy of evangelising’ (Paul VI, Evangelii nuntiandi, 80)”. Pope Francis
