Dingle Liturgy Group meeting in the Sacristy on Wednesday October 3rd at 8pm.

The Year of Faith
Just a year ago Pope Benedict XVI announced that the Church would launch a “Year of Faith” on the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council; that is on the 11th of October of this year. He suggests that this would provide a good opportunity to help people understand that, in the words of Blessed John Paul II, the texts bequeathed by the Council Fathers, have lost nothing of their value or brilliance.
A Series of talks, at the Díseart on Wednesday 8.00pm to 9.30pm, to commemorate the “Year of Faith” marking the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council.
The sessions will be led by Fr. Jim Sheehy with guest speaker Geraldine O’Mahony.

Oct. 10th – Why the Second Vatican Council?
Oct. 17th – The Vatican Council – Then and Now.
Oct. 24th – Pope Benedict’s Message Inaugurating the “Year of Faith”.
Nov. 7th – The Faith – In Theory and in Practise.
Nov. 14th – St. Paul: Teacher and Model of the Faith.
Nov. 21st – St. Paul: Faith and Justification.
Nov. 28th – Faith Revisited.
(Talk will be given by Geraldine O’Mahony).
Dec. 5th – Ways in which we can Grow in Faith.
There will be time for questions and discussion at each session. The session will end with a brief prayer service; and there will be light refreshments and an opportunity for a chat after each session. Everybody Welcome.
Year of Faith and Church Action
Dingle Parish Pastoral Council at its Sept. meeting discussed how we can ensure to keep all 3 Parish Churches open daily to facilitate all the faithful. The meeting agreed that practice can best serve Pobal Dé by encouraging more frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament. Therefore, you are now invited to consider how you yourself might help by offering to join a rota team of keyholders / Sacristans who will volunteer to oversee this important pastoral initiative. As some parishioners are already attending to these tasks we welcome more of you to consider how you too might be in a position to help. Please contact either Cathy in the Parish Office on 066-91501208 or Fr. Tomás in the Sacristy.

Day for Life – Lá Fhéile na Beatha
“A decisive moment for Ireland
The Church’s annual Day for Life coincides this year with a decisive moment for Ireland. In the coming weeks, our Government will decide how to respond to a 2010 judgment of the European Court of Human Rights.
Despite what some have asserted, the Irish Government is under no obligation to legislate for abortion because of this ruling of the European Court.
On the contrary, our Government is free to respond by seeking full protection in Irish law for the right to life of the baby in the womb. This could be done while ensuring that women in pregnancy continue to receive every treatment necessary to safeguard their lives.”
You are advised to read and please pray the accompanying leaflet as Béarla and Gaeilge.
