Naomh Bríd: Saolaíodh Naomh Bríd timpeall na
bliana 453 i Faughart, cúpla mile ó Dhún Dealgan, Co. Lú. Tamall beag tar éis do Naomh Bríd bheith saolaithe cuireadh go Murroe i Luimneach í le cónaí le clan altrama. Bhí sé le feiceáil fiú agus Bríd óg go raibh glaoch ó Dhia aici mar go raibh grá speisialta aici do an daoine bochta. An nós is mó atá ceangailte le Bríd ná déanamh croiseanna Bhríde ar Lá le Bhríde an chéad lá de Feabhra. Tagann an nós seo ón scéal gur dhéan Bríd í féin cros as gheitirí faid a bhí sí ag tabhairt aire do thaoiseach págánach agus é ag fáil bháis. Chailleadh Bríd tamall beag tar éis breithlá 70 a bheith aici. Chaith sí saol fada iontach ag tabhairt seirbhís do dhaoine eile. (Therese – Scoil Cheann Trá)

My Pledge v Neknomination Games
Stark news of recent weeks tell of serious dangers and risk to life and health of young crowds at Belfast and Dublin nightclubs. Two major tragedies directly resulting from online Facebook dares and games urge us all to follow the sound advice of Bishop Ó Murchú as he advised us to learn how to firmly say “No Thanks” when it comes to alcohol and drugs.
John Taffe, National Co-Ordinator of the Irish Bishops’ Drugs and Alcohol Initiative says in this week’s Irish Catholic “It’s dangerous because pressure is being put on individuals when the challenge is passed from one to another. We have to treat alcohol with respect. It is a drug and like any drug there are risks. I encourage people not to put pressure on one another to outdo each other and not to use alcohol in risky situations.”
My Lord and My God,
you show me the way to the Father,
You teach me the value and
dignity of every human being.
I want to live like you always,
I want to love God my Father,
I want to respect myself and all other people,
I want to practise self control all my life.
Do This In Memory

Valentine Prayer
I said a Valentine Prayer for you and asked the Lord above to fill your heart and bless your soul
with the precious gift of love.

I asked him for sincere love the kind that’s meant to stay
Just like the generous love you give to those
you touch each day.

I prayed for love from family and from every cherished friend then I asked the Lord to give you
his love that knows no end.
