Annual Autumn Dues

Calling all Parish Choirs
Fr. Liam Lawton will present a workshop for parish choirs. Based on his new collection, Eternal, the workshop will be held on Monday Oct 19th at 8pm in Church of the Resurrection, Park Road, Killarney. Admission to the workshop is €10 per person and each participant will receive a book of the new music. Anam Cara is holding its monthly Parent Evening on Tuesday 13th of October 2015 from 19:30 to 21:00 in Recovery Haven 5 Haigs Terrace, Killerisk, Tralee, Co. Kerry. All Anam Cara Services are available free of charge to bereaved parents.

Inch by Inch Toddleathon for UNICEF on October 18th.
Registration (€10) starts at 12 noon with the toddleathon starting at 1pm at Inch Beach. This very mini marathon is for toddlers and their families. Each toddler gets a medal and a first marathon certificate. Other family fun events will also be held on the day. Fáilte roimh cách.

Ógra Beo
Diocese of Kerry – Youth Ministry Initiative
Ógra Beo is an exciting new initiative for young people in the Diocese of Kerry. It is a faith based parish programme.
Ógra Beo involves four training workshops for young people in our parish:
• Getting involved in the parish.
• Learning to work as a team.
• Developing leadership skills
• Planning an action to respond to a need.
• Prayer and reflection.
• Meeting friends and having fun.
A workshop for adult volunteers to familiarise themselves with the programme will be held on Thursday October 22nd at 7.30pm in John Paul II Pastoral Centre. Please contact the parish on 066-9151208 if you are interested in taking part.
Parish Visitation
Fr. Joe will continue his visit to households in the parish by visiting homes in Cathair Boilg and Baile an tSléibhe in the coming weeks.
Parish Liturgy Group
Members of the Liturgy Group meet with the priest to plan and organise liturgical celebrations in our parish e.g. Fómhar na Farraige / Feirme / Remembering our Loved ones/Advent. At this time we would like to develop the membership of the group which would include a representative of our three Churches. You are invited to consider being a member of the Liturgy Group or nominate someone. This can be submitted in writing and dropping it into the Presbytery by Sunday October 11th. We appreciate your support.

Mission Sunday – October 18th
We thank God for the faith and generosity of women and men who continue to dedicate their lives in bringing the Gospel to people all over the world. Our prayers and generosity enables this missionary work to continue helping the poor to have a home and access to health services and education.
A collection in support of the Missions will take place next weekend Saturday/Sunday October 17th/18th.

HOLY SOULS – NOVEMBER MASSES
Holy Souls – November Masses will be celebrated in our 3 Parish churches, in West Kerry Community Hospital, Coláiste Íde and Cnoc a’ Chairn remembering all those named by you in our Parish November Lists.
You will find the purple coloured list in the envelope delivered to your homes recently. Please fill in this list and return with your customary November Offering at your earliest convenience. Extra envelopes and lists will be available at the back of the three Parish Churches. Masses will be celebrated for those on the lists, every week during November in the 3 Parish Churches:
NB: We will remember especially all those who died since last November and invite a family member to light a candle in the Sanctuary in loving memory at the following Masses:

Laudato Si – An Díseart Talks
Fr. Jim Sheehy series of talks on Pope Frances’ recent Encyclical “Laudato Si: On care for Our Common Home,” continues in the Pádraig Ó Fiannachta Room at An Díseart on Thursdays, 8.00 to 9.30.
The Programme:
1. Thursday 15th of October: The Hard Facts: The Causes and the Solutions.
2. Thursday 22nd of October: Ecology: Science, the Bible and Tradition.
3. Thursday 5th of November: Global warming, Climate Change and Poverty.
4. Thursday 12th of November: Ecology and Spirituality.
5. Thursday 19th of November: Dialogue: A conversation that includes everyone
6. Thursday 26th of November: “The World Peace Diet” ….Exploring the consequences of our food choices. This talk will be given by Helen Higgins.
There will be an opportunity for discussion and prayer. No charge but a donation to An Díseart to cover costs of heating and lighting would be appreciated.

Dutch Gregorian Choir
We welcome to our Vigil Mass this weekend Hans Meiland and Conductor Rens Tienstra with 14 members of their Gregorian Choir.
