Eucharistic Congress 2012

In preparation for the Eucharistic Congress 2012, we are invited over the coming two years to focus on how we celebrate the Eucharist.

“Coming to Mass is about more than ‘showing up’. It’s about belonging, it’s about togetherness, it’s about hospitality. There is a human feel to it – human beings connecting with one another, aware that they are gathering together as Christ’s body. If there is a human feel of ‘gathering’, then it is more likely that there will be a divine feel to it too – a feeling of God’s hospitality, God’s embrace, God’s presence.”

(Excerpt from Exploring Eucharist – Dónal Harrington)

Ospidéal Pobal Corca Dhuibhne / West Kerry Community Hospital

We warmly welcome the news that the New Hospital will open on Wednesday the 27th of October following the registration by HIQA of 2 wards. 43 patients will be  transferred from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Local Health Manager for Kerry, Michael Fitzgerald said, “It is a great relief to have the registration process completed and that the requested number of beds put forward for registration have been granted. The Dingle Community Nursing Unit is the first public residential care facility to be formally registered in Kerry and I would like to pay tribute to all the staff involved in the process which is rigorous and intensive. The HIQA report on the standard of care that is being provided in the current St. Elizabeth’s Hospital was found to be very satisfactory and with the enhanced environment that patients and staff can look forward to in the new facility, it bodes well for the future.” Ráth Dé ar an obair.

NB: An outdoor Mass will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth’s on Wednesday next the 20th Oct at 11am. Fáilte roimh cách.

New Eucharistic Ministers’ Rotas are available in the Sacristy for St. Mary’s.

Please pray OUR MISSION PRAYER

Heavenly Father we ask you to bless us,

As we prepare for our Parish Mission in November.

Open our hearts to Your grace,

That we may be more faithful in following Your way.

Bless all families in our parish at home and afar,

Especially those families

That are experiencing difficulties.

Bless the old, the young, the lonely,

The poor, the sick, the unemployed,

Those in sorrow, those in despair,

Those who have lost their way.

May Your love be upon us, O Lord

As we place all our hope in you. Amen.

Abair PAIDIR D’ÁR MISEAN

A Athair neamhaí iarraimid ort sinn a bheannú

Agus sinn ag ullmhú do Mhisean an Pharóiste i Mí na Samhna.

Oscail ár gcroíthe dod ghrásta

Go mbeimid níos dílse ag leanúint do shlí.

Leag go fial do bheannacht ar na teaghlaigh inár bparóiste ar ár bpobal sa bhaile agus i gcéin,

Go h’áirithe na teaghlaigh sin atá i gcruachás.

Beannaigh idir óg agus críonna, uaigneach

Bocht, breoite, iad siúd atá in isle brí,

Iad siúd a chaill a slí

Go dtitfidh do ghrá orainn, a Thiarna

Agus sinn ag cur ár ndóchas i dtaisce ionat. Amen

“Gracias Seňor (Buíochas, A Thiarna)

Each of “Los 33” rescued miners showed this logo in bold lettering across their chests as they came into daylight following their 70 day ordeal at 2050 feet. Atacama is the driest desert on earth and a most inhospitable Andean wilderness. During his recent Radio Kerry interview Bishop Liam Ó Murchú highlighted the vital importance of inter-connectedness and particularly in time of adversity. Tralee missionary Columban Fr. Derry Healy who had visited the San José (St. Joseph) Campo de Esperanza (Hope Camp) told a similar story on local and national radio. “Ar scáth a chéile maireann na Daoine” – underground and trapped men, concerned and skilled operatives, the Mincon experts at Shannon who crafted the successful drill, the NASA experience, the Austrian capsule, the constant love and hope-bearing support of poor families creating a united meitheal who raised the missing men. We should continue to pray for their ongoing welfare so that as the wife of one said “we can start a new life”. A homemade banner at San José del Carmen Hospital reads “Misíon Camplida, Chile” meaning “Mission Accomplished, Chile”.
